Chapter 14 (Porcelain face)

Todoroki's P.O.V.

6:10 am

It's the next day in the hospital, Inko had gone home to rest after staying the entire day in the hospital. Midoriya is sleeping, occasionally snoring here and there but for the most part, he's very quiet. Komo, he's the quietest little baby I have ever met. He doesn't cry, he only faintly fusses. It's strange, I'm sure there's nothing wrong with him.

I pick up my phone, scroll through my playlist and put on a gentle song. The song I put on is Lemon Boy by Cavetown, my volume is on low since I forgot to bring earbuds. Once the song started to play, Komo slowly started to calm down. Drifting slowly into a deep sleep...

I kiss his forehead and continue to rock him in my arms. I stare at him for a second, "...Lemon boy and I started to get along together. I help him plant his seeds and we mowed the lawn in bad weather. It--" I stutter when I hear another voice join. " *both singing* It's actually pretty easy, being nice to a bitter boy like him. So I got myself, a citrus friend" we both start to laugh at the end.

Midoriya sits up and hangs out his arms. "Let me hold him" I transfer the baby into his arms. He fusses a little, Midoriya lightly bounces him. " It's okay, it's okay, it's just me" Midoriya sighs and looks over to me, "when was the last time you slept? Your eyes are puffy and have bags" I scratch my neck, "Who keeps track of that? heh," His warm hand pinches my cheek.

"Get some rest, at least an hour, please?" I sigh "I'll rest when we get back" he shakes his head and smiles. He readjusts the blanket on our baby and lays him on his chest. "How do I look in a hospital gown?" He says jokingly. " I hate it so much, and I'm the one who put it on you" he chuckles.

"...the moment they put him on my chest, I forgot about everything that had happened prior to that. He is so small, yet so heavy despite being a little underweight..." Komo starts to whine, "Midoriya, I think he's hungry. He hasn't eaten in a couple hours" he pulls off his blanket and drapes it over his chest and the babies head.

His shoulder becomes exposed as he rolls down the top of the gown. Komo stops fussing, only gentle breathing came out from under the blanket. I glance at Midoriya, his expression was peaceful.

"Todoroki could you get me some water?" I nodded. I got up and pulled back the curtains and back again.

Midoriya's P.O.V.

I sat in silence, my mind feels like it's running in circles. The music on Todoroki's phone continues to play in my ears, but it still feels quiet. I need this to stop, my head keeps thinking about how it would be like if I just didn't have the baby.

All these different scenarios keep popping up in my head, each one with a different outcome. Every single one of them ends horribly... I freeze when Komo stops eating. Slowly I lift the blanket and see Komo sleeping soundly. His small hands are clinging onto me.

I can't be selfish, I need to stop thinking about the possibilities. My son is right here, right now. When I walk out of this hospital I need to face the fact that I'm not coming out with only Todoroki.

I wrap Komo back into the blanket and lay him on my chest. "You're so quiet Komo, you sleep just like your daddy" I chuckle softly to not wake him up.

"And how do I sleep exactly?" Todoroki pulls the curtain back and walks over to me. He hands me a cup with water and ice, "heh I didn't hear you come in". I take a sip, he sits down on the bed facing the window. "The door easily swung open without a sound... Anyways, how are you feeling after the pregnancy?"

I adjust my position and sigh, "Well one this is for sure, I'm not at all used to the extra skin on my stomach. Also, my hips look wider than they used to be which makes me kinda uncomfortable" he grins softly. "The stomach will probably go away in a couple weeks, but I don't know about the hips" I laugh, he takes the cup and places it down on the table.
