Chapter 12

MAGGIE'S POV

after knowing the biggest secret that they hid from me, i don't know who to trust anymore. and most importantly, i'm frustrated,angry,miserable.

i can't even recognize my own  sister.

i held on to the nearest wall to support myself since my knees can't barely hold my whole body.

it was 4 pm and minutes after i calmed down... though everything did not sink in yet. i stood up and looked firm.

"maggie..." mom said and i looked at her.

"i'm not your biological mom." she said. 

i don't know if i can be able to process everything in just one day. i knew this was coming. that there will be another secret to be told. and what my mom-which is not my real mother just said are just part of the big secret that has been kept to me for years.

i smiled, a weak one. 

"i guess you've figured out already?" she asked.

"when i saw you came out the house earlier. you were so outgoing. not the type of 'mom' that i knew...i had the gut feeling.  but when you started talking about what happened here... it confirmed everything. and please, everything is too big to process. i don't think i can react anymore. it made me numb." i said 

it's actually true... after what i knew... i don't know how to react anymore. i don't know what i should feel. 

"i want to know more." i said. determined.

"call me morina, that's my real name." she said.

and as she said those words, the mother figure was gone. 

"you should go back to your friends now first, let's talk another time." she said to my dismay.

"no, please i want to know everything ." i said pleadingly.

"Margaret." she said 

and with that i knew that she was serious about it. there's nothing i can do to change her mind. 

"fine. but promise me let's finish this. i want to know more about myself." i said and she smiled reassuringly. she pulled me into a hug and patted me in my back.

"take care on your way back." she said

and with that i took off going back to key's resthouse.

driving at a fast speed, i arrived at the rest house at 7:30 pm.

when i parked maxene's car, i immediately saw them running towards me with smiling faces.

"you're back!!!" maxene shreiked and hugged me. the boys were there as well and seeing the scene made them smile. 

"so how's the meet with your mom?" minho asked. 

trying to dodge the subject i just smiled and told them i had fun. even though i did not. 

"have you eaten already?" key asked and as if on cue, my stomach rumbled enough for them to hear.

arrrghhhh. tummy! you're a traitor!

i blushed in embarrassment  and covered my face. and i heard them laugh.

"Let's go inside." jjong said and we walked towards the entrance. 

after eating dinner with them, jjong went to their while minho was doing the dishes. we did not eat at the cottage since it was so cold ad it was better to stay indoors.
