Sweet. Simple. Caring. Loving.

That's what I've always been labeled as my whole life. But not everyone knows what a vicious young woman I can truly be. I am sweet, loving and caring, but only to those close to me and only to those who deserve it.

I'm a paralegal for one of the top law firms in my home state. I love my job, but the hardest part is seeing my boss every day. You know they always talk about "the one who got away?" Darien just so happens to share the same face of the man I once loved. Well, I can be honest and say he still has a piece of my heart.

He was the one who taught me real heartbreak, and even though I've moved on it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I had to walk away from him knowing that I loved him more than anything.

But that's in the past and I love my boss like a brother, and will always be loyal to him. Aside from all of the drama, we had a great friendship because we've known each other since we were 14 years old.

Darien used to date my sister Whitney before her accident, so we've always been pretty close. Many people thought it was more because of how close we are, but my heart belongs to someone else. But there's no denying he has the most beautiful soul. We stayed in touch after high school when he moved away to attend lawschool.

He was the brother I never had and I cherished him especially after Whitney passed. While away Darien had gotten married to Christian; who is an absolute wench and I absolutely hated her. Christian is also a lawyer as well, but she hated it here. When he graduated from Stanford, he came back home and we both took jobs at his father's law firm.

'It's just not my type of place to live.'

Her words, not mine. But our town is similar to all small towns, everyone knows everyone. Christian, she hated that. She didn't like the fact that he knew so many people from here, but truth be told they hated her just as much.

We all could see through her bullshit but it took Darien a little longer. He'd finally gotten fed up with her shit and asked her for a divorce. The woman actually had the nerve to brag about her sexual conquests she had behind his back. I stood in the doorway in while she screamed at him in shock; I knew she was a bitch but it was all just harsh.

But here we are, present day and my 'brother' is the happiest he's been since before my sister died. I too had moved on and I have been on pretty happy for the last two years.

Greyson Knight, dear god; he is amazing in so many ways and the things he does to my body. I melt each time his eyes meet mine, he looks at me as though I'm the only woman in the room.
