How You Met Pt. 2

(3rd Person POV)

(F/n), Kanda, the inn-keeper and his wife all sat around the table as they ate. And all was quiet. "So, tell us a little about yourself, Mr. Kanda." The inn-keeper's wife said.

The exorcist was annoyed at the sudden intrusion of his privacy, but one look at the girl across from him -- who looked at him with a kind smile and curiously, sparkling (e/c) eyes -- Kanda decided to elaborate.

"I'm an exorcist with the Black Order." He said simply.

"An exorcist? You hunt demons?" (F/n) tilted her head questioningly. Kanda blushed a little at the cute reaction.
'Why the hell am I finding this cute...?'

"In a way, yes. More like coming across Akuma is an occupational hazard. What the Black Order does is look for Innocence, a material that you're either born with or you're equipped with." Kanda explained.

"You've lost me, sonny." The inn-keeper said.

Kanda had been about to sigh in frustration, but he looked at (F/n) again to find her completely fascinated by his explanation. He took a deep breath, and then continued to explain. "I am an equipment type exorcist, which means that the weapon I carry with me is made of the Innocence material we look for. There are others were they are born with that material in their bodies, and they can transform their bodies into weapons."

"That sounds so amazing." (F/n) said with a bright smile, clearly unaware of the pain and suffering that came with the job.

Kanda looked down a little at his plate, now half empty of the food that had been prepared for him. 'I guess it would to an outsider.' He thought to himself. He closed his eyes. 'I don't need to bring her into this... she'd lose that kindness that she has...'

"I'm sorry. I guess asking questions isn't really considerate of us considering the severity of your work." Her voice sounded compassionate, which made Kanda look up at her with a bit of shock on his face. There (F/n) was, sitting there with a kind smile. "Hunting Akuma must be very taxing for you. You must be very skilled, Kanda."

Kanda was speechless. Not once had he met an outsider that was as compassionate towards the Black Order's cause. (F/n) clearly had a pure heart (one could almost say it was made of Innocence XD).

After dinner, (F/n) went to clean dishes, leaving Kanda with the inn-keeper and his wife. "(F/n) seems to really like you." The inn-keeper's wife said with a smile.

"She's different from everyone I've met." Kanda said, absentmindedly.

"Yes, she is a bit of an enigma." The inn-keeper said. "With what she's been through it's a miracle she has stayed this kind-hearted."

Kanda looked at the inn-keeper. "With what she's been through?" He was intrigued by the statement.

The inn-keeper's wife looked at him. "(F/n) watched her family be murdered by those things that you hunt. Her family was killed by an Akuma."
