Valentine's Day Special

In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I am going to write something special for all my readers.

( 3rd Person POV)

(Y/n) was humming softly as she looked through a cookbook. It was Valentine's Day and she's wanted to make something special for her boyfriend, Kanda. It was their first Valentine's Day, so she wanted to do something for him. She had learned from Jerry on how to cook soba, and now she was looking for a dessert she could make. She knew Kanda really didn't like sweets, but she wanted to make something that he would like. In the end, she went with making dark chocolate truffles with green tea filling inside. A bit of sweetness so it wouldn't be so bitter.

She had everything ready. But there was a bit of a setback. Kanda had been deployed on a mission, and she had hoped that he would be back. She decided she would wait for him, as long as it took. (If that sounds familiar to you then you know what a feels moment this is!!)

(Kanda's POV)

I had made it back late. I had almost forgotten about it being Valentine's day. I normally wouldn't care for such a marketing scheme of a holiday, but I wanted to do something special for (Y/n). I may not have always told her so, but she means the world to me.

Of course, I was on the fence about what to get her, and in the end, I had gotten a single rose and a stuffed (f/a) for her. 'I hope she doesn't laugh... I've never really done anything like this before.'

When I went to our room, I found the (h/c)-haired girl laying down on the bed. On the bedside table was a bowl of soba and a few... chocolates? She knew I didn't like sweets, but I thought it was nice.

And then I saw it. The note beside the bowl. (Y/n) had written it in case she had fallen asleep.

'Kanda, I'm sorry if I've fallen asleep by the time you've gotten home. I was hoping to wait up and see you today.
I learned from Jerry how to make soba for you, as for the chocolates, they're dark chocolate with green tea cream filling. I know you don't like sweets, so if you don't like them, I understand.

I couldn't help but smile. She had done so much for me on this day. I turned my head to look at her sleeping form. 'Well, she didn't say yo not wake her up.' I bent down to place a kiss on her cheek. She moved a little as I gently pet her hair. When her (e/c) eyes opened slightly to meet mine, I gave her a smile that I knew she lived so much.

"Happy Valentine's day, (Y/n)."
