It's day three of being queen, and it's nothing like the fairy tales.

First off, you don't even seem to have a kingdom. Will claims he's "ruling over the town," but little has changed besides the cancellation of psychic shows at the Tent of Telepathy. The only people whose lives are affected by Will are you, the Gleeful twins, and the poor cashiers at the store when Will steals snack food from their stocks. Some kingdom.

At least most everyone is safe.

The Gleeful twins, though, are the opposite of safe. Will alternates between torturing them, using them for petty errands (like stealing more Chipackers for him), and grilling them for information. Turns out he isn't satisfied with getting revenge on his captors, like you thought — he wants to get more powerful.

"Why?" you demand when he tells you this. "What are you going to do with more powers?"

He shrugs. "Rule the world. Pretty standard on demon to-do lists."

Mabel and Dipper aren't much help on this; the only form of power they're familiar with is the amulets — which Will can't use, though no one is sure why. You try to steal the amulets for yourself, but a copy of Will is always guarding them, and with his super senses, there's no sneaking up on him. Same with the dimension hopper.

The Gleeful twins have something more than the amulet, though — three books, pale blue with six-fingered hands on the cover. Will spends hours poring over them, discovering whatever he can about the strangeness of the town. Sometimes, as one copy of him reads, another will go out in the forest, searching for artifacts. Whenever he invites you along, you take it, desperate to get out of the Tent of Telepathy.

You're out on one of these adventures when they come for you.

You and Will are walking through a field — of wildflowers, you note with a pang — when he stops. "Oh. He built another one."

You frown. "What?"

Will looks at you with an amused expression on his face. "Dipper Pines built another dimension hopper. He's here to rescue you."

Hopes flutter in your chest, but they're muted — you're all the way out here, and you have no idea where Dipper is. Who knows where Will has clones of himself?

"Then let him rescue me," you say. "We — we can leave you alone. Just let me go."

"And you'll go back on that promise you made to Pacifica?"

You frown at him, not remembering at first. Then your it comes back to you: your promise to stop Will. You can't go back on it, you realize. Will's too dangerous.

Instead of answering, you turn around, heading back the way you came. A copy of Will appears in front of you. "Where are you going?"

"Back to the Tent," you say, skirting around him. You know he can stop you if he wants, but you're hoping he doesn't.

He falls into step next to you. "What are you going to do there?"

"Talk to Dipper. Try to negotiate with you."

He snickers. "Good luck."

But he doesn't stop you.

Halfway there, Will speaks up. "Huh," he says. "That's going to be a problem."

"What?" you ask. He doesn't stop, so you don't either. You're desperate to get to Dipper.

"He has a new device," Will replies. "One that can get rid of my copies. It's making it pretty hard to take away his dimension hopper."
