I walk into the school's lobby and see Blake with a bunch of his friends.
I try not to keep looking at Blake, I glance over. They are all laughing, I look down and smile. His laugh.
His laugh is infectious, that I couldn't help but smile to myself.
"What's got you so smiley this morning?" My best friend Adam asks.
I look at Blake in the corner of my eye, trying not to make it obvious that the reason is tall, tan, and has the most beautiful green eyes I've ever seen.
I look back to Adam and keep the same smile on my face, "nothing." I simply say.
"Mhm, whatever you say." I blush as I look down.
The lobby starts to clear out as students make their way to class.
"Alright, we better go. I'll see you later. Remember to meet me at my car after 7th." Adam gives me his famous bear hugs. "Will do."
I make my way to Gym, and I suddenly feel my phone buzz in my back pocket. I quickly pull it out, I see his nickname.
Handsome; You look so beautiful today. I almost couldn't keep my eyes off you this morning.
I turn a crimson color as I continue the walk to first period.
I quickly change after first period and make my way out to the hallway, I see him and his group of friends pass by me. I try to hide my blush, and just keep scrolling through my music; trying to find the perfect song for how I'm feeling at the moment. Happy.
Me; I'm trying to hide my smile.
Handsome; Don't hide that beautiful smile of yours.
I walk into English, and take my usual seat in front of my two best guy friends; Danny and Perry.
"So Cara, Adam said that you seem a little too happy today." Danny says as I take my seat. "Is there such a thing as too happy?" I ask. "So what's his name?" Perry jumps in. "Why do you guys assume it's a guy?"
"YN, we know you." I hear my phone buzz again. I hastily reach for it on my desk and see his name.
Handsome; I just realized I haven't really stopped smiling since Saturday.
I blush.
"Okay, what school does he go?" Perry asks as he looks over my shoulder. "I don't know I just met him on Saturday." I lie.
I hate lying to my best friends, but I have to keep this secret if I want to keep feeling this way with Blake.
"Is he in our grade?" Danny asks.
My heart races, he's getting too close.
"No." I simply lie.
"Cara, why are you lying?" "I'm not lying," I look down as I smile at the text.
Me; I haven't either. I can't wait to see you again.
"You're the worst liar ever," Danny says as Mrs. Base makes her way in front of the class.
I just roll my eyes at Danny's comment.
The class drags on as I keep checking my phone and realizing I have no service in this class.
Of course.
The bell rings as I gather up my stuff, "I will find out who this guy is. Give me 'til tomorrow." He says more towards Perry. I just roll my eyes, "good luck." I add.
I walk towards my locker to switch my books.
After a long day and thinking about Blake non-stop, I hear the bell that releases everyone for the day.
I reach Adam's Mustang, "hey Cara, Alex's riding with us too." I look to Alex who was smiling his little innocent smile.
They both know I hate being squished in the backseat.
Me; Of course I get stuck in the backseat. I hate being so little.
Handsome; I love how little you are.
I couldn't help but blush and get soaked by that comment.
"Fine, but you have to bring me a donut tomorrow," I say to Adam. He smiles, "was already planning on it." I beam in victory.
"Let's go, we have to beat the busses out of here," Adam says as he climbs into the Mustang.
"Thanks, Adam, bye Alex." I hug both boys as I get out of the Mustang and make my way into the house.
Finally alone with my thoughts.
Handsome; Are you home?
Me; Yeah why?
Handsome; Just wondering if you survived the backseat with Adam and Alex.
Me; How did you know that's who I ride home with?
Handsome; Adam always gloats how he gets to take you home from school. He even talks about how you guys have very private conversations.
I roll my eyes; of course, Adam tells people who he thinks are his friends about what we talk about.
Me; Does he ever say what the conversations are about.
Thinking back to one in particular from a couple of months ago.
Handsome; No, we always try to get him to say, but he always says your secrets are safe with him.
I sigh a huge sigh of relief.
Handsome; But I'd like to know what some of those private conversations are.
Can I trust him not to tell him some of my personal confessions? I mean I think I can.
Me; Maybe next time we hang out, or if there's a next time.
I smile. There better be a next time.
Handsome; How's Friday? Everyone will be at Luke's house getting high and drunk. I'll fake being sick.
Me; Okay, I'll be your nurse for the night.
I blush. I'm so bad at flirting with a guy I like. I'm not bad at flirting if I don't know I'm doing it.
Handsome; Be ready by 7 on Friday.
Me; Okay but won't your mom and Kelly be home?
Handsome; No, Mom always goes out to eat on Friday nights 'til like 11. And Kelly is usually always with Danny on Friday's.
Me; Well 7 sounds perfect.
