Regrouping was pretty simple, now that all we had to do was stay on one side of the Pyramid, and keep an eye on golems that would emerge from the molten chains trying to push the structure back into the ground. The death of so many by a dead prince stirred up most of our group. Kotal's guard weren't exactly keen on having me be his successor given my allegiance to Mileena. Probably fearing another Mad Empress scenario, as my choice of partner make her able to become Empress. The politics I didn't care to entertain.
Mileena had reigned in herself during these many days. Calm. Obviously during battle, her Tarkatan genetics flare up, but it doesn't seem to be a constant concern. Derogatory remarks only have a low growl as a response now, instead of stabbing, biting, and all the other methods of death she'd use. I'm proud to say she isn't as 'mad' now.
Sticking around this area, we seemed safe enough to think of a strategy. Noob and Smoke had also returned, alongside the children of the other Kombatants. Lately, the fall of Rain due to his own hubris took the act of vengeance away.
I had some of my old friends die because of him, and I did promise a wedding gift in the form of his severed head to Mileena. The hammer might have to do, for now. Besides that, the only thing was Blaze. Oddly enough, the Pyramid couldn't descend any further, not with the creature now up and about. Another reason to remove the problem.
Looking at my hands, I recalled Raiden's words. The black flames weren't 'flames' in the traditional sense. They were primordial, made not only for destroying all, but cultivating new realms. Maybe they could make less than an entire ecosystem...something to contain that beast.
"It isn't exactly a good day, eh?" Jacqui commented, as the chains once again attempted to pull the structure into the dirt. A slight quake began, but ended just as swiftly.
"No kidding. Mako, got any ideas?"
"Hm...I might not be able to beat Blaze. Not even a team attack would work. I'll contain him," I told them, standing up playing around with a black flame in my palm. "This might help; Raiden did say it wasn't like any fire, not even hellfire,"
"You intend to try and make a net or something?"
"No. It has to come from somewhere. Blaze isn't one to just be affected by lesser material. The item would still be Blaze, but just not in the shape of a beast. In turn, he wouldn't be able to fight...let's say I make him into an egg? That's a start, and simple to manifest," I only demonstrated a slight shaping of my flames, itself being what I said earlier; an egg.
"Okay...so the plan is make Blaze a molten kinder toy?" Cassie asked me, as I simply was clueless on what a 'kinder toy' is. Must be some Earth Realm item for small children.
"...I am going to say...yes," Shrugging at her question, I looked over to my men. Yes. My men. With me officially being the new Kahn by his dying wish, I had the opportunity to make use of his guard. "Here's the strategy. No doubt he'll be waiting for a Son of Argus to arrive, and will try and send his golems to stop us from fighting. I need you to keep them off me while I assault the creature,"
"Why would we follow you?" A mouthy guard spoke up.
"Fool! We have no time for-" I shushed Khameleon, as I wanted to hear what this person wanted to say.
"You have a problem with me leading?"
"Indeed. It is no secret you are acquainted with the Mad Empress. And I have no reason to suspect a Kohou to command the same respect as Kotal Kahn," Ah. He thinks I was a weak-willed ruler. I guess he is half-right; I hate responsibility.
"Hm...so, you think my weakness inherent in my kind would allow for Mileena to do as she pleases? That I am too nice? Is that the idea?" I stood up to him, looking down, as he was slightly shorter than me.
