Hey guys! Sorry this chapter took so long to get out. I'm sick again, work and school have been crazy, and my home life is honestly pretty crappy right now. I really didn't want to just throw together a chapter, so I appreciate your patience! And while I'm not totally happy with
this chapter, please enjoy!-A.B.

Vel's POV

"What?"

I was dumbfounded by what my brother had just stated. And, judging by the fact that Zek and Nadi had abandoned their others tasks to leave over my shoulders to listen to Mal's explanation.

"You heard me correctly. I found him." I could hear the excitement in his voice. Mal was a happy enough guy, a little stern around the edges, but a good man overall, and right now he sounded like a child on the day of the anniversary of his bearing (birthday lol).

Hell, I'm sure I would sound the same way if I could utter a damn word. None of us were talking actually, and it's usually impossible to get Nadi to shut up. Apparently I wasn't the only one who noticed.

"Damn, Mal, you need to find our mate more often, I could could get used to Nadi not chirping in my ear all the damn time." Zek chimed in. At least he broke the silence, though now Nadi had a pout on his face from Zek's remark.

"I don't talk all that much, and I certainly don't chirp." I also heard him mutter an "asshole" in Zek's direction.

I ignored my brothers, now refocused on what is most likely the greatest thing to ever happen to us. "I'm assuming you found him at the auction, unless of course you met in while meeting with the IRO, but that's less likely as you have meetings with them quite ofte-"

"Easy there, Vel, you'll use all your words." Mal said with a chuckle. I had to admit, Mal had only been with our mate a little while, but the change in his demeanor was evident. He seemed so much more relaxed, at least until he began speaking again.

"Yes, I found him at the auction, not in the best of circumstances either."

"Is he a Shalara? That'd certainly be interesting, I hear they're quite frisky in the bedroom, and they do always end up at those auctions." Zek said. While a little vulgar, I too am also interested in what race our mate is. He could be anything, as Castillians are very compatible with many races.

Again, Mal's mood seemed to shift a little, "No, not a Shalara. He's Terran."

Again, we were all struck silent.

It was several minutes before I spoke again after gathering my thoughts, "But, Terra isn't a class three planet yet, what was he doing not on his home world? Terrans are hardly ever off world."

"You're right, he's supposed to be on Terra. He was taken."

It registered in my mind just after Mal had spoken. For the third and hopefully final time, I didn't know what to say, luckily Mal continued.

"He was who I was sent to collect for the IRO. He was the one taken from the Dumarian vessel by the looters. He was placed for sale tonight, I barely got here in time. Though I'm not sure if Lilar would actually be foolish enough to have illegal trade on his record and have the IRO hunting down his ass, either way, he was on that cursed stage." Lilar was infamous for being an auctioneer in that place, and while he might be an ass, he wasn't a dumb one.

I could feel a rage coming off of him, he has his own personal reasons for hating the Auction, and adding in the fact that our mate was almost sold off to some pervert there wasn't helping its case.

Nadi wasn't a fan of tension, so he spoke up, "Well, at least he's safe now. He's with you, right?"

I could hear Mal sign, forcing out some of the tension in his body, "Yes, he's with me. And damnit if he isn't the cutest thing I've ever seen. My blanket is practically swallowing him." He spoke so fondly of him, which was giving me goosebumps.

My mate has been found, and I finally get to meet him. He's coming to my home and- wait, is he coming home?

"Are you coming home, Mal? Or are you taking him to the IRO." While the IRO is usually pretty reasonable, interfering with a planet's natural development was a big no no in their books.

"I'll speak with them after I'm done with our call. They owe us several favors in terms of what we've done for them, and by now they should know better than to mess with a Castillian mating." Castilian matings were well known as one of the strongest bonds that could be formed.

Usually it is formed with two to four Alphas and at least one omega, and once formed could never be broken. This type of bond has been around since the beginning of Castilla, as omegas were fewer in those times, several alphas leaders, or brothers in our case, would form a blood bond (since we are brothers, there's no need to do an actually ceremony other than the one which will bind us to the omega), binding them together, and allowing them to be more cohesive as to protect their omega better. An interesting detail about the omega is that they are born no different than alphas, other than the fact that their builds and general nature are less dominant. And when the omega forms a bond with their Alphas, their body begins to adapt to what is required of it, in most cases, child bearing. This is something that is known to transcend the Castilla race. Something about forming a bond with a Castilla makes most races able to complete the transition Castillan omegas can make. There are a few exemptions, being genderless races or those that produce asexually. We'll have to see what will happen to our mates body when the time comes.

"Is there anything we need to prepare for him? Has he requested anything since being with you that we could get ready to make him more comfortable when he gets here?" Nadi asks, very eager to meet his new mate.

"Actually, he's been asleep since I've collected him. He was drugged at the auction, and there's no telling what else they or the Dumarians might have done."
Mal paused, I think to turn around and assess our mate, if I were to guess. "He actually doesn't look to good. Get a physician to look over what Terran medical information we might have, what I have seen of Terrans, they shouldn't look as thin as this."

I was getting a little worried, but Zek and Nadi wasted no time in running off to contact a physician and likely go to collect some texts of their own to learn more about their mate.

Mal and I both thought for a minute, we were the older brothers, so we generally had to focus more on the more serious part of issues.

"What if he's really sick, Vel? I don't know a lot about Terrans and space travel, maybe there's a reason they don't leave their atmosphere often." He was worried, we all were, but that wasn't going to help us in taking care of our mate.

"Don't worry, Mal. It'll all work out, He'll be fine, I'm sure of it."

There's no way in hell that we found our mate just so we could lose him, I'm not going to let that happen.

Sorry if I messed up the names a bunch, still getting used to all of them and it's pretty late where I am 😂 hope you enjoyed and let me know what you think!-A.B.
