TWO - A VACATION TO THE UNKNOWN
-
"So, you excited?" He asked the young girl who had her eyes glued to every crook and curve of the plane, her legs dangling over the seat as she sat opposite her Father. He watched her as she was amazed by the look of a plane.
"This is really cool." She murmured to herself as she continued to look, playing with the buttons on her seat to adjust it backward. Letting out a little giggle of excitement. "Thanks for taking me to Europe. I always wanted to go."
Tony nodded as he ordered a glass of champagne for himself. His eyes landing on Amanda as she smiled up at the stewardess who took their orders. Ordering a glass of orange juice for herself.
Tony continued to watch Amanda as she was scribbling aggressively on her notepad. Even when she was on a plane, she always seemed to be scribbling on that notepad. That is what Tony noticed about the young girl, she always seemed to be taking notes or drawing a model of something. In his mind, he deemed that she wanted to be a designer.
"Amanda."
Her eyes darted upwards at him as she heard her name being called out by the man. She was in mid-sketch of a model of the plane. Her model seemed to be around a similar design to the plane but with its little twists.
"You're nine, right-"
"I'm eleven and a half."
"Yeah, whatever." He said as he readjusted his position on the seat, getting closer to Amanda as he leaned in just slightly. "You got some talent, right there. You know."
She looked up at him, her eyes glistening with hope as she felt an accomplished feeling flutter into her stomach. She nodded as she continued to look down at her hands. Seeing as her Father just kept looking through her notepad. Seeing her notes and drawings since she was nine.
Amanda always brought her notepad with her, even when she didn't need it, it was always there, where she would just keep writing and drawing. She needed it for ideas, for entertainment. But if anything happened to that notepad, she had her technology to help her.
Her Father handed it back to her as she clutched it tight in her hands. He watched as she then flicked through to a blank page, immediately scribbling down notes. He watched as she flicked again through the next page and continued on with her notes, before sketching a new design idea.

She entered the hotel with her Father, plopping down into the bed as she looked around with a grin. She had never been to a hotel in her life, yet a hotel in a foreign country made her extra excited. She watched as her Father ruffled her hair before placing in his Iron Man suit. Which made her confused as this was supposed to be a holiday for the both of them.
She wanted to ask why he was in his suit, but she was too nervous to ask him. Until she pieced together on what was happening.
This was all forced, he never really wanted to bring her here, only that she was going to be alone in the tower and that he didn't want her messing with his lab. Happy was on business with her Mother, Pepper and that left Tony Stark alone with an eleven-year-old girl. She sighed as she then watched him go out to the balcony of the suite, turning back to her.
"Don't get into much trouble. And if Pepper ends up calling, tell her you're at home." He then said as he flew off into the streets of the big city.
She let out a disappointed sigh as she tried to find the remote to the T.V, now she thought she would be spending time with her Father, after all these years. But yet again, he still seemed to not care about her when it seemed like he did.
She turned on the T.V as the channel led straight to the news, it was spoken in the German language but to her, she didn't mind that. She was shocked to see a man, wearing horns for a strange hat, his robes were mainly green and black as he held a smug smirk to his face. People around him were kneeling, but Amanda still did not know what was going on in that entire moment.
She looked over to the phone, checking the ringers I.D, seeing as it was Pepper she immediately picked up the phone. Remembering what her Father had just said, she pretended that she was still back at home.
She pressed the call button and placed the phone close to her ear before Pepper began to talk her ear off.
"Amanda, what are you doing in Germany?" She then asked as Amada froze. How in the world she knew that she was in Germany, she didn't know.
"I'm not in Germany Mom." She then continued, trying to sound like she wasn't lying to Pepper through the phone. But yet she still did not believe her.
"I tried calling you through your phone, you were not answering."
Amanda swore under her breath, making sure Pepper did not hear her before she sighed.
"Amanda Urion Xander Sta-"
"Don't finish that." She immediately said as she cut Pepper off from saying her last name. "My name is Amanda Xander, not Amanda Stark. I'm done, after all these years of ignoring me, trying to get to him, trying to grab his attention. I give up Mom."
"Amanda!" She heard her say through the other line.
"I'm not a Stark. I'll never be. It's too late. I'm done. I love you, Mommy."
She then pressed the end call button before tossing the phone onto the bed as she grabbed her notepad, with the noise from the T.V serving as background noise for her, scribbling everything down aggressively as she repeated the word over and over again.
Xander, Xander, Xander
She was not a Stark, she was a Xander. She will never be a Stark. It was too late.
