FIVE - THE BEAUTY OR THE DIFFERENCE

-

Amanda looked up at her Father who began to fly out the tower. Leaving her there for her own safety. Leaving her alone as she would always be. Rushing out to the window, she spotted his suit of iron armor, flying off into the distance, where she could not find him anymore. Digging into her pocket, she pulled out a slip of paper, remembering what Hermes had given her in the flying boat-ship, an address, a place to go. Reading it as she took a seat in one of the seats before a voice startled her through her earpiece.

"Miss Stark, would you like to do something while your Father is out?" She heard JARVIS say through her earpiece as she sighed in relief, knowing that it was just JARVIS.

"No JARVIS, I gotta do something real quick." She then said as she began to rush to her room, her footsteps echoing loudly across the tower as JARVIS followed her, along with her own AI, ANA. "I won't be long."

Amanda dashed inside her room, swinging the door violently open as she then grabbed her backpack, looking around for things to take with her. Her mind wired and ticked about as her eyes flickered from about every little bit of her items inside her room. Looking over at her bed, she spotted her favorite stuffed toy, her favorite teddy bear that she carried around whenever she was scared. A gift from Pepper at the least, it was from Louisiana, where her Mother was originally from. That was one of the few things she knew about her Mother, Alexis Xander, apparently, she had a deal with these certain group of Gods and Goddesses that she would help them with something. Along with the fact that she had lived with her for the first few years of her life.

Stuffing the bear into her bag, she brought a bunch of other snacks, such as chips and soda, and along with that, she brought an emergency phone just in case. As she slipped in her sneakers and her jacket before she swung her backpack over her shoulder and began to make her way towards the elevator. Closing her bedroom door behind her as she looked up at the ceiling, making sure her Father didn't install any cameras around the tower. She hoped he didn't as she didn't want to be seen caught by him on camera.

Luckily there were none.

"Miss Stark, I do not think you would need to leave the house." She then heard JARVIS then say as ANA retorted back with a smart remark, making JARVIS lose its focus on Amanda as the other AI distracted it. As the pair of AI then continued to snap back at each other, back and forth, Amanda snuck out over to the elevator and out the door, into the busy streets of New York City.

A little girl alone with a backpack doesn't look suspicious at all.

She was told by Hermes that she had to head towards the Empire State building, which confused her entirely as to why she had to go there in the first place.

Her trip to the Empire State building was quite short, due to the closeness it had with her Father's tower. The largest building in NYC. It was bound to be easily found. Her eyes found themselves looking up at the tall tower as she stood in front of it. One-hundred and two floors high along with its pointy antenna. She bit her lip before letting out a shaky sigh, her grip to the straps of her backpack tightening as she began to walk towards the glass doors of the tall skyscraper.

Her rubber soles colliding with the marble flooring over and over again as she tried reaching her destination. Almost stopped multiple times for being the only young child in the building, but she slipped into the crowd, hiding from security before reaching her desired location.

Remember, tell them that you need to get to the six hundredth floor.

Hermes' voice echoed through her head as she stood on her toes, trying to reach the receptionist. His eyes looking up from the computer as he peered down at Amanda, just before ignoring her as he got back to checking his computer once more. He wore certain dark frames that covered his eyes, a lanky frame and a suit that seemed to not want to fit him, even with the number of belts he used, her normal larger than life attitude was then replaced with an aura of fear and intimidation.

"What do you want kid?" She heard the man say in an annoyed but monotoned voice. Before she opened her mouth, she gulped in fear before she looked up at the man, remembering what she had to say.

"I-I need to get to the six hundredth floor." She then said out to him, the receptionist gave her a dirty look as he crossed his arms.

"Is this a joke?" The receptionist then growled in a very low tone at the young girl as she then suddenly felt so small. Even for a man so thin, he seemed so large to the young girl, it frightened her to the fact she wanted to wet herself.

If the man at the desk intimidates you and calls you a liar, that's just Jacob, he is like that. Just tell him you need to speak to Hermes about the box. He'll understand.

"I need to speak to Hermes about the box."

The man let out a cackle as he stood up from his desk, coming out as he looked over at the girl.

"Ah, Zeus has a new one." He said to her as the man examined her deeply. "A lot like your Mother than I thought, she was fucking terrified when she was brought here. No shit I look like a psychopath."

Amanda gripped the straps tighter with every step she took, watching the man with a wary look as she continued to follow him, into an elevator. Her eyes seemed to scan every inch of the building, nobody could see her, due to the fact she was quite short. Her ears seemed to drown out the noise of the crowd of people rushing through, talking over one another, her focus being mainly on the man as she followed him. Halting to a complete stop at one of the elevators, his long thin finger moving over to press the button as a pair of doors suddenly opened afterward. A large group of people exiting before the pair squeezed past through, the doors suddenly bolting shut as the man pressed another button.

The lights seemed to flicker as Amanda could feel the elevator shaking, the man stood completely still as the elevator continued to shake violently as if he had done this about a hundred times. She could hear the wind whistling through her ears though she was not outside. As the elevator came to a complete stop, it shook at is halted, making Amanda almost fall onto the ground. She looked over at the man as he stood outside the elevator, impatiently waiting for the girl as she got out. Handing her a silver key as she tilted her head just slightly.

"Just take the key and say your destination. It's Olympus by the way. So go or whatever." The man then said in a bored tone, his arms crossed as he leans over the railing.

Amanda clutched the key tightly, then closing her eyes as she muttered the word 'Olympus' to it. A sudden feeling of lightness had erupted her from her thoughts as she then opened her eyes, seeing bright glows around her as it danced around before she landed on her feet. Looking around the foreign area as she spotted stranged pillared buildings.

Everything was so much more beautiful than New York, it was bright and sunny and the buildings were all so white and clean, pillars towered over each other as it supported the buildings.

Was this even Olympus?
