Emma's p.o.v*
I wake up to Ruby already at my house and henry already up. Holy shit I'm late. I run out the door still in my pajamas not even showering and hop in my car. I run into the school to see we're in 2nd so I run to Ms. Mills' class and hope for the best even though I know the best will probably be me in detention for a billion hours.
"You're late."
She said but in a lighter tone than usual. The class still turned around to look at me but this time I think they were just used to it and expected her to blow up but she didn't so maybe they were confused.
"Sit down and I'll be with you shortly."
I sat down in my seat and she began passing out papers. Once she gets to my desk she hands me a paper with a sticky note attached to it. I looked at her in confusion and she smiles and gives me a nod. I unfold it and read it to myself.
"I understand... So you're not in any trouble. Next time try to wake up a bit earlier."
I looked up at her and smiled and she looked back and did the same. 20 minutes went by fast and the bell rings and I stay back to talk to her. "Why are you being so nice? I don't want you to favor me just because you helped me when I passed out and you know I have a kid."
"It's just I understand but Cherish Henry because you never know what could happen."
I smile at her and nod. But am deeply confused by this. I leave the classroom and walk out like I usually do. But this time I got pushed into the locker right by her room. It was a tall boy who was very unfamiliar. He held me down and said. "Next time have my babies."
Everyone looked up and laughed. I didn't even know how they had this information because only a small portion of people knew. Laughter rushed past me as I sat down right by the locker crying. I kept hearing the words. "Slutty swan." As people walked by me. Then as I finally got over myself and stood up then someone threw a soda in my face. The whole hallway began laughing obnoxiously. I hear clicking. "JESUS CHRIST WHAT-"
I look up to see Ms. Mills. She's looking at me shocked and on the verge of tears but not tears of sadness. These tears looked like they seemed from the pure fact she couldn't harm the bullies who were harassing me. "EVERYONE IN THIS HALLWAY HAS 4-HOUR DETENTION FRIDAY IN MY ROOM!"

Regina's p.o.v*
I see Emma sitting on the floor covered in tears and what looks like coca cola. Anger fills my eyes. And I suddenly become very disappointed in the school and everyone in the hallway. "Here. Let me help you. Let's go to the restroom."
I help her up and throw her backpack into my room. We walk into the restroom and she puts her soda-filled face into my white shirt. "Crap. Um.."
"Oh... I'm sorry."
Tears start pouring down her face. "No no. It's fine." I grab some paper towels and wet them removing all the sticky substance off her face. "Why are you being so nice."
"It's just I understand."
"How would you know what it's like to be bullied? You're hot. You have no kids. You've obviously made good grades. You have a huge house..-"
"I'm ho- never mind, Looks are deceiving Emma, you of all people should know that."
"No. You have no idea."
She rolls her eyes grabbing the paper towel out of my hand. I'm debating over whether or not I should tell her my biggest secret. Tears start coming down her cheeks. "Emma. When I was around your age. I had a baby girl. She was adorable and she said funny before every sentence like "funny I want some pizza." She was the cutest thing ever. I had her at the age of 12 I know that was young but it wasn't really my choice... When I was 20, And she was 9 I decided to take her to a carnival. We hung out until it was late. It was her birthday and I wanted to do something special for her. After we got done as we were heading to the car a gang of 6 did a drive-by. They shot her in the head. And she died. Until this day I regret going to that carnival but I will never regret having her."
I look up into her eyes to see her soft sobbing. "Miss. I'm so sorry."
"Call me Regina."
"Okay, Regina... I'm so sorry I didn't know. I should have never assumed."
"Oh it's fine, but cherish Henry. He's smart, and kind, and a bit of a smart ass."
She starts laughing and I pull her in for a hug. "Now don't tell anyone the only people that know are my mother and father."
"You didn't tell any friends."
"I was afraid of the outcome. What does a 20-year-old with a 9-year-old look like."
"Understandable. School must've been hard. How'd you hide it?"
"In the nine months, I switched to home school. After I went back. But things were different. School was much easier but I always had to leave for appointments and stuff."
She smiles and nods.
"How bout we get you to class."
"Actually I think I'll just go home for the day. I'm so over people."
"Alright. I could drive you."
"I have a car.."
"Right... I forgot."
I see her giggle for the first time today.
"There's that beautiful smile. Go home and get some rest."
"Thanks, Regina.."
She runs out of the restroom and from the hallway window I watch her car back out and away.
Oh no she forgot her backpack!
I guess I'll go give it to her after school.
