Natalie…

Honestly? They looked really cute together, it was obvious he loved her, it reflected in his eyes. It’s not shocking, her looks could kill, she was funny and very easy to talk to, and she seemed like a good person, who wouldn’t love her?

         I had been shocked when she walked in, she was wearing the same suit as I. I brushed it off as a coincidence, I figured she must have been the one he had bought the suit for; he must be his fiancé or girlfriend. But after seeing them together I decided they were most likely fiancés.

 She had said and I quote, ‘Hey, you’re chase’s PA right? I’ve heard about you’ I smiled at her, ‘Natalie, nice meeting you’, ‘I like that name, it’s okay, if I call you Nat right? I’m Lauren by the way and we are wearing the same suit’ then she giggled, ‘it looks so much better on you’ I had to mechanically stop my jaw from dropping.

 She looked downright gorgeous in the suit, she was very model-like, and she said I looked better? Please!’

 I had called Chase to inform him that there was somebody there to see him, but she had stopped me and for a while she just stared at me with a smile on her face, ‘You know, you’re so pretty. How do you manage to work with Chase, he’s so much of a jerk, Isn’t he?’ I smiled, ‘I think you mean work for; and he’s not exactly a Jerk though’ Big lie, and luckily she knew it.

 She laughed, ‘you’re too polite, we all know he’s a jerk. He always fires his PAs for the slightest mistakes they make. They’ve been quite a lot and I don’t remember most of the reasons, but here’s the most ridiculous; he fired one of them for raising an eyebrow when he called her all the way from her office to pick his pen, he said she was rude! Can you believe that?

 Don’t be bothered though, He won’t fire you, you’re better than practically all of them. The last one messed up his coffee, you know he always…’ and he came in.

 She turned and the next thing she said left me in fits of laughter, ‘ChayChay!!!’ It was a funny pet name, but adorable all the same. They hugged for quite a while and I felt myself feeling a pang of jealousy. I was really starting not to get myself these days. Why would I jealous? I never did. Never had a reason to.’

 After a while she turned and smiled at me, ‘I’ll talk to you later, and she winked at me, I laughed and they went into his office. I smiled and sighed. I have work to do, I shook my head and continued working.Or at least tried to.

 After nothing over an hour, she ran out giggling and holding his phone, ‘Lo, hand the phone over’, he was laughing, She shook her head and kept laughing, punching some buttons.

He advanced towards her and she screamed playfully and ran behind me, ‘save me!’ she told me and yanked me up. I was shocked, how exactly am I supposed to react to this?

 ‘Tell him to go away’ she said, ‘umm…Go away?’ I told him. Yeah, it was a question. He laughed, ‘Tell her to hand over the phone’, I frowned, ‘I said go away’ I was trying to look as serious as possible, he just laughed and looked at me, he looked really happy, my heart did flip flops, I scowled. ‘I will as soon as she hands over the phone’ I looked behind me; she was transferring something from his phone to hers.

 Then she stepped out, a victorious smile on her face, ‘done’ and she handed the phone over to him. He laughed, ‘you really are evil’ she giggled again, ‘IKR’, and then Derek barged into the office panting, like he was being chased by wild demons.

 ‘She’s coming!’ oh, well I guess he was actually being chased by wild demons. Lauren and Chase exchanged looks that carried on a ‘we-are-in-trouble’ meaning, ‘Where is she?’ Chase asked, ‘very, very close, on her way here’ then we heard footsteps behind the door.
