The next day after dinner time, the campers had cabin time for an hour. Cabin time is when you can stay in your cabin to hang out or you can play a sport with your friends or by yourself outside. I didn't really talk to the girls in my cabin so I was outside walking around, wondering what to do.
Then I saw a group of boys on the field playing soccer (football). I walked up to them shyly.
"Hey, can I join you guys?"
I asked. The boys looked at each other uneasy. Finally, Preston spoke up.
"Yeah, sure. We were just making teams."
Preston told me. I smiled and nodded. The boys then started making teams.
"I don't really want the girl."
"Why not?"
"That's sexist."
"No, She is probably girly and will run from the ball like the rest of the girls."
"How do you know?"
"We need fast runners anyway."
"Shut the fuck up, it's no big deal. I'll take you (Y/N)."
Lachlan offered. My cheeks turned red as I smiled. I went on Lachlan's side.
When the boys were done picking teams, we started the game. Lachlan let me play as foreword because I told him that I play better in that position.
As soon as my teammate passed the ball to me, I bolted off. I ran past players, dribbling the ball between my feet. I megged the defence then kicked the ball. It went in at the top left corner.
Everyone looked at me in shock. Lachlan laughed and ran up to me.
"(Y/N)! That was beautiful!"
Lachlan complimented and put his arm around me as we walked back.
"Thanks."
I shyly said. Once we got back to our side of the field, Lachlan put his arm down. I could still feel the warmth of Lachlan's arm around my shoulder. It made my head buzz and butterflies in my stomach. That only made me want to play harder.
At the end of the game, my team won 10-5.
"(Y/N) You have to be on my team next time!"
"Nah! She's on my team!"
"Um, no! Are you dumb?"
"This time we get her!"
"That's unfair bro."
I laughed and shook my head.
"Should of picked me earlier."
I told them. The boys sighed and I glanced at Lachlan. Lachlan smirked.
At the end of the field, the girls were glaring at me, probably jealous. The girls are ridiculously attached to the boys here. I shrugged it off. At least I have some people to hang out with.
