"Why, why, why Dream?! I was there! I was fucking so close to getting their respect. And now... look what I've become." Nightmare held his bony fingers to his skull, which dripped with black ink. He hated that he was like this now, because now he was doomed. Without more constant negative feelings, Nightmare would get weak. And it shouldn't be him who had to worry about weakness.

"Nobody bests me. NOBODY." He slammed his fists down, hitting only the empty tile-like floor that was green grass and flowers only hours ago. Now, this world was dead. Empty, and reluctant of any more hope. And nobody was left to see that it was Nightmare, who was strong enough to do this. Nobody. It hurt, it felt like hell.

Nightmare turned to the dark, nearly dead tree that started all of this. The fruit here had doomed Nightmare's fate, and blessed Dream with two things. Enough light to fight off Nightmare... and the chance to escape. By now, Dream was probably warning the entire Multiverse about Nightmare's existence. And it would be impossible to track and stop the little nuisance too; Nightmare's chances were about as close as finding a needle in a haystack. Nearly impossible.

Nightmare had more important things to care about now. Finding Dream wasn't the issue, but stopping him... well that was something else. And what's worse was that by then, Dream had probably assembled the pesky Star Sanses to join him and stop Nightmare. Nightmare growled, knowing that multiverse domination came at a cost. This one, being rather annoying and unfavorable.

'Plus, I have to have negative feelings at my disposal, so that I can stay strong... damnit. Being me sure is toiling.' Nightmare wasn't even being serious anymore, since a break was a requirement for now. Nightmare's tentacles swayed in a calm, nonchalant motion as Nightmare sat down in the same spot he and Dream used to sit under the tree; before all this. Nightmare felt his soul burn slightly. 'All I wanted was for everyone to love and worship me like they did you.. well, that's all that I used to want. Now, look what you've done Dream. The multiverse didn't love me when my time to rule was at hand. Now, they will FEAR ME.' Nightmare spared himself the hint of a smile as he imagined it. Everyone bowing at his feet. Even one waiting on him, taking his every order with undetered loyalty. EVERY ONE would finally know him. And Dream... Dream would finally understand his pain. Dream would finally see, and know what Nightmare had known. He'd finally get it.

But..... it all seemed like so much damn work! Too much work for him to do on his own. Nightmare continued cussing underneath the illusion of his metaphorical breath. He could fight. He could kill. He could conquer. However, Nightmare was not the type of Sans made to do anyone's dirty work. Not even his own. It all seemed too petty and worthless for his likes, and he wasn't going to kill every ten seconds in multiple universes to get something easy like this done. He needed to focus so that he got done what really was needed. A meal. The insatiable hunger for negativity didn't like to be ignored, and Nightmare felt a dark void fill up the unexplainable pit of death in which needed to be fed.

'I'm going to win. I don't care if my brother tries to throw hell at me. I'll catch it, and return it twice as hard.' Nightmare felt the greedy darkness in his body grumble, wanting sustenance. 'Fine, I'll find nourishment first.'

Nightmare walked calmly past the wreckage and death that stood to his side. All his causings. Eventually, he came upon two small rabbits, who seem to be cowering over what looked like their dead parents bodies. Nightmare smiled a dark grin as the small bun buns looked up at Nightmare, absolute terror marking their faces. The one nearest to Nightmare was wearing a pink bow, and the further one, a blue bow. Nightmare raised up his tentacle, and stabbed the pink-bowed child with a swift motion. His tentacle pulled away after to leave a deep hole in the small one, who collapsed. The blue-bowed child ran forward, holding her dying sister in her arms. "Please Claire, open your eyes! Don't leave me here!!!!" She cried and cried, but the one called Claire... was dead. Nightmare felt a rush of negativity hit him, satisfying his dark needs. However, inside, the goodness in Nightmare's soul cracked at this scene. He'd done this.

Nightmare got bored of the sight eventually, walking away without a care. As if he hadn't just broken another heart. Killed another innocent. The great tree soon came back into view, and Nightmare returned back to its trunk. He sat there, wondering what he could do to achieve his goal. He lay for hours, contemplating his choices. The idea of him doing this on his own just seemed so trivial, so wrong. Nightmare knew he was worth far more than hours of petty murder. His mind was going blank.

However suddenly, an idea rushed to the dark one's head. As simple, KILLER idea. It seemed impossible. All the more reason why Nightmare liked it. 'Ah, if only I'd thought of this sooner! Shit would already be done by now. Ugh.' Nightmare ignored the lack of productivity though, because plans like this don't come to just everyone. Nightmare smiled, laughing darkly. He knew exactly what needed to happen. 'I don't need more luck...

I just need MORE STAFF.'
