Horror sat at his station, hungry and tired as fuck. He could care less if a human came through right now. Papyrus would catch them anyways. Instead. Horror had only one, beautiful, perfect, amazing objective. Sleep. (Get up, Horror you lazy bum! XD)
After a few minutes though, he found it impossible to sleep. Horror could hear a low cutting sound. It sounded a lot nicer then a bloody hack job. But not nice enough to be nothing. It sounded like a blade on snow. Horror listened hard, having nothing more important to do. And after a second, he was right! Low, distant footsteps could be heard crunching against the thick snow.
Horror didn't really care that anyone was approaching, Papyrus would look deal with it. The only thing that made him get up, was the fact that the footsteps were loud af, and Horror couldn't sleep to them. Horror jumped over his booth and turned to make his way in the direction of the annoying steps. If it was a human, he would just kill them and then have new food for dinner. But Horror knew for sure that this would end with him sleeping, and someone dead.
Horror eventually came to the entry to the Ruins, where he found someone unusual. A black and white Sans with distinct X-markings, and a single mark of red on one cheek and one eye. They held a giant knife, dragging it about on the ground. The blade left a radiant red line in its wake upon the powdery terra firma.
"Aye', who the hell are you?" Horror called out, his curiosity being the only thing stopping him from killing this apocryphal being standing before him.
Cross looked up at Horror, not having seemed to notice him. "..." Horror didn't find the silence entertaining now that he had approached this figure. He wanted to know what the hell was going on. "Listen ya x-covered me. I don't like you. Just by the looks of you, I think it would be best to get out. And I ain't scared to break you apart limb from limb if ya refuse. This is me being nice, since I'm tired and need sleep. Still, I'll kill you easy."
Cross sighed, already disliking this AU. It seemed that no one had any manners. Kill, eat, murder. That's all he'd seen of here. Since he was on his own with Chara (who is currently napping), he didn't need to worry about being polite. He would tell this Sans off, or even kill him if need be.
"I'm going to let you know that I'm only taking the entry of the ruins from here. You waste the lovely place anyways. Just back off." Horror rolled his glowing red pupil, and slowly pulled out his axe.
"You seem pretty rude..." Horror smiled, "perhaps I should teach you some manners?!" With that, Horror lunged at Cross. Cross turned to meet Horror's axe with his blade. Horror chuckled, "Better than expected." The two stabbed and lunged at each other with murderous intent. Cross was obviously more skilled and agile, but Horror's blunt strength was far more than a normal Sans'. The two fought well against each other, holding their own with strength. And if they weren't so caught up in fighting, then either might admit to slightly enjoying this.
Clang! Slash! Ching! The two fought until the ground began shaking, and nearby citizens approaching turned back or cowered. Nobody wanted to get put in the middle of this, seeing as either skeleton wouldn't hesitate to kill passerby if it meant winning. Both competitively used attacks that scorched and destroyed their surroundings, not caring to notice the mess they were making. The entire path was marked with slashes, dark gashes, and a more unsettling milieu.
Cross tried many times to get in a perfect stab and take over Horror's body. However, the brute-like skeleton gave no such option. As blunt and power-vs-speed oriented as Horror seemed, he was masterfully skilled with his axe. His attacks were just as precise as Cross's were, and they hit with the force of a top level royal guard. Horror was damn strong, and Cross made no mistake to forget that. He planned each dodge and attack out with skill.
After maybe 15 minutes, the terrain was too messed up to fight on. Cross got a good hit to Horror, and Horror likewise.
The stood head to head, panting and holding their injured parts. "You fight *pant* well." Cross sputtered, still out of breath if he were to have breath. Horror nodded, laughing, "You too. You're lucky you're not dead." Horror looked at Cross, chuckling.
Cross looked to his surrounding, laughing, "Guess I'll need some new Snowdin ruins. These are destroyed."Cross pulled his first sword out of the ground, the line going faded. He looked up to Horror, smiling,"This was kind of fun. You've surprised me, something that doesn't usually happen. I hope to fight you again some time, once I've completed my task. Bye."
Cross left suddenly, Horror having only one thought left in his head, 'Damm... I need to sleep this over.' This was a lot to happen all in maybe 30 minutes. Horror met another him, fought that other him, and even supposedly befriended that other him??? Horror suspected this to all be some sort of crazy-ass dream. Suddenly, he was torn from his thoughts as he heard loud, proud, hard footsteps behind him. Horror scratched at the crack in his skull, turning. He knew who this was.
"SANS?! WHATAREYOUDOINGOUTHEREANDWHYISTHISENTRYSODESTROYEDWHATDIDYOUDO?!" Papyrus asked, his usual loud voice and mannerism fairly present. Even though everyone was in hell here, voracious and possibly evil, Papyrus still had his strong spirit and natural quirks of being loud and outgoing. "Eh, I'm just patrolling like you asked. What did you think Papyrus?" Horror answered casually, swaying back and forth.
Papyrus stopped dead in his tracks at this answer. Horror paused, confused, "Uh, Papyrus?"
".... SANS.....YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT...
"YOU ACTUALLY DID YOUR JOB?!" Tears of joy (don't question the logic) fell from Papyrus's eyes as he picked Horror up, twirling him around. "And I didn't even use a pun. What do ya think?" Horror chuckled. He decied to humor Papyrus a little. However, Papyrus seemed to drop Horror and look at him dead in the eyesockets again. Slowly, Papyrus pulled out his phone and put it to his 'ear', saying, "Undyne, the world is ending. Sans just did actual WORK and isn't telling PUNS! Quickly, evacuate everyone now, before it's too late!!!!"
Horror chuckled, as Papyrus seemed to go crazy with confusion as to why Horror was being productive. Horror almost even forgot about what just happened in the mist of his brother's hilarious reactions to his non-laziness.
Horror almost forgot... almost.
