As a merman, Taehyung's body was always warm, warmer than a human one. He could help Jeongguk better if they were skin on skin. He took his own shirt off and Gukkie looked at him surprised.

"What are you doing? Not that I'd mind seeing you naked." He winked and Tae blushed.

"Uuh, the wet clothes, they-"

"I know Tae, I was joking. Can you help me with my shirt?" Jeongguk sat up and they both stripped his shirt off.

He wrapped his arms around him and heard a groan. "What's wrong? Did I hurt you?" Tae's strength could hurt him easily. "No, it just feels so good, so warm and soft. I like it."

Taehyung smiled and without thinking he kissed the other's forehead which was right in front of his mouth.

"I like it." He repeated again in a whisper.

They cuddled till they heard voices. "Dad, Jin, you both are finally here!" Taehyung stood up carefully, so that Jeongguk wouldn't fall into the water. He was weak and tired, he couldn't keep his eyes open any longer.

The water was really cold. Even though he wasn't long under water, the freezing breeze made it worse.

Taehyung placed his arms under Jeongguk's knees and around his torso to raise him up. "Tae, I don't w-wanna go h-home." His lips trembled.

"Dad, please help him!" Taehyung begged and he could see how his father's gaze softened while he nodded slowly. "Bring him over, son."

He did as told and soon after, Jeongguk had warm blankets around his body and of course, Taehyung still didn't let go of him.

It felt to right having the guy he just met in his arms and against his chest. He couldn't explain it, it was just- Right.

He didn't know that his dad was watching him while Jin controlled the boat. They didn't go the the mainland, instead they took him to their home, the Laguna.

It wasn't like in the Disney movie 'the little mermaid', they didn't sleep under water or had a big castle there. A big Laguna was what they called home, it was beautiful, really spacious. Of course it's hidden where no human would find it if the mermaids and mermen didn't want to.

They arrived and the rest of the way they had to swim. Taehyung was concerned. They had to dive a really long way.

The water was warmer but Jeongguk was human and couldn't breath under water. "Dad, he'll die!" Taehyung didn't stop to plead.

"You know what you have to do, son." The king had a small smile on his face which Tae couldn't see.

"I can't do that." His eyes grow big he was shocked.

"Don't be a baby, we don't have time for this, just connect your lips already." Jin had enough, it wasn't a big deal, it's not like Jeongguk was conscious.

Taehyung gulped and looked at the lips he had to touch with his own. Why was he so nervous? It wasn't a kiss, right?

They all jumped down from the boat with Jeongguk in Taehyung's arms. Their legs changed immediately.

"Let's go, it will be dark soon." The king looked around and dived. Jin followed his action but Taehyung was still hesitating.

He took a deep breath. "I can do that." He closed his eyes and leaned in. He told himself, that is was only because he'd die if he wouldn't do it. There was no other reason.

Before his lips could touch the other's, he heard a groan. "Taehyung, w-what are you doing? Why am I in the water?" He looked down and gasped.

Taehyung had to react fast. The water was crystal clear and of course Jeongguk could see his fin.

"You're dreaming Gguk, I'll save you." Tae smiled and Jeongguk nodded and initiated a kiss. Tae was taken aback, their lips shouldn't move, only touch so he could give him air.

He decided that it doesn't matter now, he'd think about it later. His mission for now was taking advantage of the situation and save the handsome guy.

He grabbed Jeongguk's head and pressed him more into the kiss, it was important, that no water could come in.

As soon as he dove, his gill's showed up and he could breath through them to give the other air through his mouth.

Jeongguk stopped moving his lips and fortunately didn't panic.

After around ten minutes they arrived and Jin and his dad were already waiting for them.

Seokjin helped them and took Jeongguk from his brother's arms so that he could hop on the rock and dry his legs.

"And, how was it?" Jin smirked and Tae rolled his eyes.

"Shut up idiot. He thought he was dreaming." Because he told him so but that, he wouldn't tell his brother.

"He will know that it wasn't a dream, soon." He sang and walked away with Gguk.

His dad was watching the whole scene and had a satisfied smile on his face. He could see that Tae liked the boy and that's what he was waiting for his whole life.

Taehyung had never fell in love before and his dad was always sad about it. He wanted his sons to be happy, he knew Jin was gay but too afraid to tell him that. He never knew why, because he never said anything bad about people who like the same gender.
