Jordan's POV:
"If you cry on me in this Starbucks I swear to all that is holy I will kick your ass," I groan at Justin, watching as he looks up from his book at me, a sniffle escaping his nose.
"It's fucking sad okay jesus," he defends himself, running a finger under his eyes then flicking to the next page of The Fault In Our Stars. I lean against the counter, watching the barista mix drinks.
"You do realize that everyone in this room is hardcore judging you, right," I smirk against the rim of my coffee cup lid. His eyes flick up to meet mine.
"Bitch Gus just died she's mourning, let me live," he exclaims before burying his nose in the pages again. I let the caramel machiatto warm my throat as I roll my eyes at him.
"Isn't that the part when she makes the pain-scale-cancer analogy?" I question.
"You know how I knew you were a fighter? You called a ten a nine." He recites it, squinting at the page.
"Luke!" The barista calls out the last of our order and I place it in the remaining slot in the drink carrier.
"Put the book up before you walk into someone," I tease as I use my back to open the door out of the shop. I spy Steve waiting patiently on the sidewalk, a smirk on his face.
"Something funny?" I tease as we begin walking back towards the hotel.
"Luke," he chuckles. I lean over as he shows me his phone screen, which has his conversation with Luke open.
Steve
please tell me Jordan's with you
I know she's fine cause she left a note but you went with her right
RIGHT
"He worries like my wife," Steve mumbles, leading us down an alleyway to get to the back entrance of the hotel. I hear the clang of metal behind me, turning to see a crying Justin regaining his balance, the trashcan he ran into rolling on the pavement slightly.
I'm grateful for the cool air inside the hotel as we walk in. I pray it hides my blush.
The elevator ride is quick, Justin's quiet sniffles filling the metal box. We all file out onto the floor, Justin immediately retreating to his room to read.
Steve disappears and I start my rounds. I knock on Ashton's door first. It takes him a while to open, but when he does he has a wide smile on his face. I see his laptop perched on his bed, his siblings faces illuminating the screen on a skype call.
"Went on a coffee run," I explain, picking his cup out of the holder and handing it to him. "Hi guys!" I call out to Lauren and Harry who wave back.
"You're the best," he grins, taking the cup and heading back to his computer.
Next is Calum. He answers the door shirtless, of course, sweats hung low on his waist.
"Hmm?"
"Coffee."
"Bae," he smiles sleepily, taking the cup from me and blowing me a kiss before disappearing. As I walk towards Michael's room he peeks back out, yelling " I meant you, not the drink!"
When Michael opens the door he squints at me and it's obvious I woke him.
"Happy day off, drink this when you wake up," I try to hand him the cup but he takes my head in both his hands, tilting it down and kissing the top of my head.
