The Red Ribbon

This was risky.

Embarrassing.

Even a bit stupid.

Yet her hand reached out anyways.

"Here, I'll fix that for you".

Kayo muttered to the boy in front of her. Her hand positioned the soft red bow neatly in the middle of his collar. Then she took two fingers to straighten and pull a bit at it to finish.

Even with the neutral, usual unfazed straight face the girl held; her cheeks were streaked with a very light, small blush.

Of course she didn't respond to Saturo's opposite reaction, his expression puzzled at first, then gradually becoming more open and flustered from what she was doing.

"K-Kayo!? H-hey it's fine! You don't have to do that! I was never good at managing formal or nice clothes anyhow!"

He didn't understand why this caused him to speak out and act so nervous around her. His hands were stuck, not knowing where to put them, while his pupils decreased somewhat in size.
His most noticeable detail was probably the reddness on his cheeks. Not that much different compared to Kayo, but still enough to show his panick.

It was weird. There really was no reason to be reacting like this! Was it cause it bothered him he couldn't adjust his own tie? That a girl called it out and took the liberty of helping? Maybe Kenya's presence, who by the way, was watching the whole time. Appearing slighlty amused.

Jerk. He's enjoying my struggles!

Though perhaps, it was due to the fact that he had taken sight of what Kayo was wearing. Her dress, while being plain and simple, suited her nicely. Her hair framed her face too, mixing well with the color of her outfit. His eyes were placed on her for a good couple of seconds. She was real prett-

Saturo's pulse raced and heart beat just a tad faster, the warmth in his body growing. This poor boy was so grateful this wasn't all the time.

Kenya kept his shoulders crossed, his tiny smile still on his lips as he watched this scene unhold. Kayo had finished long before, but she now felt awkward.
