Old beginnings

"Hello and welcome! I hope the day has treated you well!"

The girl would greet the new customer at the table, mustering all her strength to sound sweet and charming, adding a small smile for extra measure.

As they replied she gave a nod, pulling her glove on just a little tighter. She flipped out a small notebook to jot down the drink order.

"You look rather young to be working here."

Sumire felt her skin prickle at those words, both annoyed and fed up with the usual comment. It wasn't that she didn't find it to be a compliment. That she would appreciate. But when it's used to mean something else or simply bringing more attention to her little secret. You take it with a grain of salt..

She was indeed a bit young to be working there. Still she chuckled and smiled even more, glancing down at the notebook to fake checking over the order.

"Oh, why thank you! Glad to know I don't look tired and wrinkled. I'll go get your drink now, be back for the food. Be right back!"

With that she'd make her way to the back, loosing her smile and sighing deeply. She avoided the other waitresses and waiters, already feeling out of place. She tried to shake it off. Telling herself to get over it and work on that tendency to fake her attitude. There isn't a use being something she isn't.

She stared long and hard into a glass cup. She frowned at her reflection. "That is until I figure out what exactly I am".

This was a original work I did when constructing my OC. It was at least, until the amino community I was doing it for changed with two days and became very..not safe for kids.
Don't ask.
Though Sumire is mine and I plan to make some use for her and I want to create a sort of backstory for her.

Not the greatest bit but it's about a year old. This has been a tough year for me. I imagine it has been for the majority too. God help us 😅.

I'll be publishing another chapter here, then I may go silent again.
