"So what's he like?" Anna asked the next day, grinning, as we flopped under the shade of the beech tree we always sat by at lunch. The sun was burning hot again.

"Yeah, spill the gossip Posy," Faith laughed, popping a strawberry into her mouth, and wriggling closer to me, "we want to hear all the details!"

I looked down at the grass, blushing, and tried to be fascinated by a little ant crawling up a strand and on to my ankle.

"Come on Posy! We're dying to hear!" Anna said, sighing.

I looked up at them. "Alright fine. I'll tell you."

Faith and Anna grinned at each other, then looked back at me, interested.

"Okay, so, we were in Art class-" I started. And then I retold the whole of what happened yesterday and how we'd met in art class in great detail, even adding the bit at the party where we first danced together. I didn't miss a single thing, and by the time I had finished, Faith was grinning at me in a knowing, mischievous way again, and Anna's mouth was every so slightly open, her eyes wide and excited, as I finished the story. For a couple of seconds, Faith and Anna stared at me, apparently thinking of what to say, and then Faith was the first to speak.

"Well, it sounds as though you have a crush on Jack," she said in a teasing voice, giggling.

"You think?!" I said sarcastically.

"He sounds really handsome," Anna muttered.

"I know! Wait till you see him!"

"And he's in your art class. So you're going to see him, like- at least twice a week," Faith stated.

"Yes," I sighed, exasperated. "But the crazy thing is, I get so nervous and shy when I'm around him. I don't know why. But from the moment we danced at the party, he's all I can think about. He's always in the corner of my head whenever I try and focus!"

"Is he nice?" Anna asked.

"Yes! Well, I guess. I haven't got to know him much yet, since we only really spoke together properly yesterday. But I've never felt this way about anyone before. What do I do guys? My mind's a mess!"

"It sounds like you're in love!" Faith emphasised the word love again in an annoying, girly, teasing voice.

"What?!"

"Oh come on, Posy! Think!" Anna said patronisingly,"the moment you dance with him, you feel drawn to him, and then the second you started talking to each other you said you felt, 'tension, but I felt this weird chemistry there'. You can't take your eyes off each other. Don't you see! This all adds up! You are in love!"

My eyes widened in anxiousness.

"Okay, well, if I am 'in love', then how am I supposed to deal with it? If it's not just a crush, and I can't stop thinking about him, what do I do?"

"Well, figure out your feelings for him I guess, and get to know him a bit better, so you know more what he's like, and if you like him for him, and not just his gorgeous looks-" Faith started. I threw her a dirty look.

"Hey! I don't just like him for his looks!"

"I know! I know!" Faith said quickly, trying to not upset me. "I'm just saying talk to him a bit, to see if you actually like him as a person."

"Okay, but-what if I do?"

"Then go for it!" Faith said.

"Yes, but, what if he doesn't feel the same way?"
