Jin's pov. (Before Jimin appeared)

My eyes scanned over y/n's newly sent text as I lingered in the shadows of the dance, avoiding dance invitations and idiotic teenagers.

"Are they almost here?" Hoseok whined at my side, trying desperately to peer over my guarded shoulders. He seemed unnaturally nervous this evening.

"They've just made it." I say uninterestedly.

My eyes wondered to my other brother who was dragged into the sea of teenagers by Miss Park who insisted that he accompany Suran to a dance, much to his dismay.

Suran's arms stayed steady on Joon's shoulders while he uncomfortably rests his on her waist. Namjoon seems to be going off about something as they danced but Suran didn't seem the least bit fazed.

"I'm surprised she's lasted this long. I asked him for notes the other day and in the middle of his lecturing I decided to take an F." Y/N spoke up from beside me.

"What do you mean? She's clearly having the time of her life. Plus she's on the debate team if anyone has a chance holding out against Namjoon it's definitely her." My eyes drifted to the figure standing beside her, her velvety voice making itself known.

When I had first coincidently caught her buying the dress it was nothing but a scrap of fabric. I wouldn't have ever thought it would have such an effect on me.

She hasn't even spared me a glance. I couldn't help the way the ends of my mouth lifted up at that. It's all a facade, even the dullest of humans could see that.

"I'm going to get something to drink right quick." She whispered over at y/n, her eyes finally met mine. I know an invitation when I see one.

"I'll be back." I whispered over to Hoseok, my eyes trained on Ami's retreating figure.

"What no! You can't leave me alone right now I don't know what to say to her!" Hoseok frantically grasped at my arm.

"You did it, deal with it." I shrugged him off, already walking away.

"Whatever happened to bros before hoes?!"

"I can't fuck my bros!" I yell back.

"Says who? Stay with me and I swear you'll forget her name!" Hoseok desperately cried out.

I smiled in amusement but kept moving forward. Hoseok has a lot of things to learn when it humans, women in particular. He's never really had any sort of relationship with any other beings besides us. But he's got to learn sometime and it's just a bonus I get to have sex in the process.

My eyes furrow a bit when I open the set of doors leading out of the gymnasium and find Ami gone. The hallway was dimly lit and eerily quite but I could clearly feel her presence.
