At a distance your warm and inviting,
But I never can get too close.
For if I tried you would surely burn me,
And that is why I must keep my distance.
It makes me so sad to see you so alone,
In the corner all by yourself.
But even so,
You still glow just as brightly,
Not fazed by the lack of company.
You are so captivating,
Wrapped in a cloak of solitude.
The raw beauty you possess,
And the raging hunger that courses within you,
Is so lovely,
But so dangerous.
And yet I still find myself wanting to be near you.
I want to be engulfed in your magnificent glow,
And enveloped in your heat.
I am like a moth to your flame,
Always wanting to touch you.
But if I were to do that,
I would only go up in flames.
And it is for that reason,
That I can never have you.
For my love could never withstand your heat.
But I shall still watch from a distance,
In awe of your glory,
Dreaming of the day that we can finally be together.
