Tainted rose

8 4 2

She's beautiful,
That is clear to see.
If she were a rose she would be the most lovely,
Standing proudly as the daisies cry.
She was blessed by the angels a pretty face,
But her heart - the ugliest if it ever were to be seen,
Tainted by selfishness and vanity.
Oh how beauty can disguise such hideousness,
And trick a fool, memorized by the illusion,
Till the thorns pierce the flesh and make them bleed
