Shanice POV

*

"I know the fuck not!" Vickie yelled while crashing inside our dorm. I was sitting on the couch with an ice bag on my wrist. "I know he did not put his fucking hands on you!"

"Chill," I muttered.

"Ain't no fucking chill Shani! I'm going to murder his ass! I know all the chemicals that'll kill his ass slow too. I'm going to torture that fucking ass wipe."

"I'm fine Vickie."

"Look at your fucking wrist Shani!"

"It just hurt! Nothing serious. He grabbed my arm too tight and now it's just in a bit of pain and swollen a little. It's not that deep. Don't get your ass in trouble over him. Hey Titus," I mumbled to her boyfriend who walked in a minute later.

"I heard what happened," he said. "Are you really okay?"

"I'm as okay as I can be. I'm just...I'm tired of this. He's such a fucking hypocrite. When he fucks other hoes it's nothing, they don't mean anything but I'm out with ONE guy for some lunch and I'm all kinds of bitches."

"Shani," Vickie said looking much calmer now. "I know I say this all the time but...you need to let him go. Your happiness is what matters and you can't force someone to respect you. In his own fucked up way maybe Dee does love you but love isn't enough. There's a reason this Grant guy came back into your life and I feel like it's worth it to find out why."

"Even if I wanted to I doubt I'll have a chance now. He's seen how stupid I am when it comes to Dee and how crazy he gets. I doubt he wants to get himself involved in my fucked up and crazy life. Not to mention how I made myself look like a complete idiot by having that stupid ass argument."

"Grant doesn't seem like that type of guy and even if he does stop talking to you over something like this then you just move on. Shani you deserve to be happy just like anybody else. But that's not going to happen because right now you and Dee are in a very toxic situation. You tried to make things work and it didn't. Things happen for a reason."

"You're right," I sighed.

"I know I am. I've gotta go to class but I'll come right back here so we can talk shit together okay?"

I chuckled. "You don't have to. I know you Titus want to do something tonight so don't cancel your plans because of me."

"It's no problem if you need a friend right now Shani," Titus said.

"Thanks Titus but I'll call my other friends if I need someone to talk to. I don't want to impose on y'all date night."

"Are you really okay?" Vickie asked.

"I will be. Now go before you're late."

"Okay. I'll text you during lecture."

"Bye," I waved. I went into my room and sat on the bed and sighed. My phone was vibrating like crazy from the continuous calls from no other than Dee. This is like a continuous loop for us. We fuss and fight, he blows me up until I answer, I call it quits and we end up back in the same situation as before. Things are always the same. Nothing ever changes. I don't ever change. I didn't realize just how little until Grant pointed it out.

I really haven't changed in all these years. I looked at my phone as it continuously flashed with unknown number after number. It was really starting to annoy the hell out of me. Why do people like when their significant other blows them up? That shit is annoying as hell. Especially after an argument. Like give me time and space. You're just making shit worse by pissing me off.
