24. Clubs & Casinos.

ANNIE

Nina hadn't planned which casino or club they were going to, she just wrote on the list that they were going to one.

Calum, however, knew exactly where to go. A casino called the Red Rocket, which Ashton and he had been to once before. He stated how him and Nina were a perfect match, she made the plans, and he got the location, which Annie thought was cute.

She hadn't been to a casino before, she didn't really have enough money to be gambling it away. Annie was only going now since everyone else was, and that was kind of the point as to why they were in Vegas. She had made a strategy plan for herself, gamble a little bit with everyone else and then when everyone's drunk- hopefully sooner rather than later- she will just tell them that she was playing too, even if she wasn't.

Annie felt stupid for having to pretend to gamble, but she really didn't have the money to waste, especially now that she got another dog. With all due respect to the clinic, being a therapist was good money, very good but Annie had an expensive home, one that she was going to need to sell soon. It was four bedrooms, had two bathrooms and a beautiful kitchen and back garden, but it had grown too old for her, too many miserable memories were hidden in its walls.

She also had a rather expensive fashion sense, so she didn't get to venture out too often on vacations, she also didn't go out much as she didn't really want to go alone. Nina rarely wanted to leave her home, let alone go on holiday. Annie was surprised she even came to Vegas, but she guess it was because Calum had invited her. The both of them had grew a bit more 'wild' in the previous months, the urge to party growing even more.

As soon as they stepped into Red Rocket, Annie noticed one thing; this wasn't a public casino. This was for the rich and the famous and the people who drove in expensive cars and shopped at Louis Vuitton like it was a Walmart.

Annie looked to Nina, who was looking at Calum, who was looking amongst the rich crowd of upper class. He was smiling widely, rubbing his hands together as he was beyond prepared to throw his money away.

Luke gulped beside her, he wasn't actually sure how much money he had to waste, considering he hadn't done anything profitable for the last year. He also didn't really spend much on anything, so his bank was still probably as big as he left it. Ashton was the first one to get going, wondering over to the bar instead of a table, and Annie was debating on joining him until she saw him chatting up the barista. Calum grabbed Nina's hand and lead her to the black jacks table, laughing about something that Annie couldn't hear.

"And then there were two." She stated, looking up to Luke and noticing his raised eyebrows.

"I've never been to a casino before," he confessed, running a hand through his hair when he looked around the place. The pair both felt underdressed, everyone else was in suits and gowns while they were in what they thought were their nice clothes. Compared to these people they looked like peasants.

"I don't have enough money to be in a casino," Annie confessed also, sighing aloud before realising there was no point in wasting their time worrying or waiting. "I'm going to grab a drink, I think that'll make this a little more fun, joining me?"

Luke didn't have a chance to answer before she strutted to the bar, her heels clicking against the marbled floor, a noise which Luke thought was deadly and compelling. He couldn't help but follow after her, as if she were a siren, calling him to his doom.

And doomed he was, after a few drinks at the bar, Annie decided the best thing to start on was roulette, in which Luke bet $1,200 on red. It landed on black.
