*flashback*

Maria is in the house having a bath and Alex was watching her little sister but went into the house to get the necklace that she had bought for her the other day as a present. While Anna is waiting for Alex to bring her surprise, she is playing with her big blue balloon that she got at the restaurant that morning.

She accidentally lets go of her balloon and it floats over the garden fence, she quickly opens the gate and runs into the road to get it. Suddenly a car comes out of nowhere and hits the petite little girl, she flies onto the hard tar unable to even scream. She sees that it's a man in the car hoping that he will stop to help her but he doesn't, he looks at her with absolutely no emotion and drives away.

She lies on the floor whimpering in pain and praying that her big sister comes outside to help her, she looks down and sees blood all over her and feels aching in every part of her body. She knows that she has to get up and out of the road before another monster comes and hits her again.

She uses all the strength in her small body to stand up but it feels like she is being hit all over again. She slowly walks back into the house leaving a trail of blood behind her and feeling weaker and weaker every step she takes, she finally walks into her sisters bedroom.

"Lexy," She says weakly now standing in the doorway.

Alex looks up to see her baby sister with blood all over her pretty white dress and cuts all over her. Her long black hair hangs into the big gash on her forehead as she stands there looking at her sister with silent tears running down her face.

Alex quickly runs over to Anna from where she had just found the necklace too shocked to say anything. She looks at her sister's horrific wounds wondering how she is even standing.

"A car, It was a him." Anna says

"Who? Who did this to you?" Alex questions frantically as she looks at her sister's injuries again, her face getting paler by the second.

"Lexy" she starts saying quietly getting louder and louder as she says her name over and over until she is screaming it.

"Mom!"Alex screams as loud as possible.

Anna takes the necklace from Alex and gently places it around her big sister's neck sending her a sad smile.

"I love you, Lexy." she says as she sits down in Alex's lap closing her eyes.

"Don't close your eyes, stay awake baby. I love you so much. Please stay awake, I need you." she sobs "we still have too much to do, you have to go to high school and have your first boyfriend and your first kiss, I'll be right here to look after you. We'll sit and cry together on our periods and deal with our breakups together."She lets out another sob stroking the tears off of her sister's cheeks. "We are going to go to that water park together and go ice skating and shopping for new cute clothes that we can come home and do a fashion show for mom. Please." she pleads as Anna's head goes limp and her breathing shallows.

"Mom!"She screams again, tears dropping on her sister's bloody dress.

"¿Bebeque está mal?" Maria asks as she runs into the room in just a bathrobe.

She sees her 14 year old daughter sitting on the floor crying with her little sister lying limp in her lap covered in blood and cuts.

"Quepasó?!" She shouts running to her daughters.

"A car," Alex says starting to cry again

"Pick her up and take her to the car, I'm going to get dressed." Alex nods standing up and heading outside.

*end of flashback*

"I'm sorry, I can't bear hearing you say what I know you're going to say." I send him a sad smile.

"What am I going to say?"

"Goodbye, Jack." I walk back to where the cars are parked and climb onto my bike driving off not looking back to see the love of my life being left behind. He can't love me anymore, I couldn't bear hearing those words come out of his mouth and that's why I'm leaving before they can.

Jack's POV:

"You've got to focus, the big game is tonight." Mason urges punching me on the arm.

Alex hasn't spoken to me since her birthday which was two weeks ago and it's seriously killing me. I miss her so much but every time I try and talk to her she doesn't want to let me. She doesn't understand that her telling me the story about Anna didn't change anything, she thinks I don't love her anymore. She couldn't be more wrong, if anything it made me love her even more for how strong and incredible she is.

"Jack!Head in the game, son." Coach shouts kicking me out of my thoughts.

...

Alex's POV:

I slip Jack's hoodie over my body, I've worn it every night since I stopped talking to Jack. I wish I could just run up to him and hold him forever but I know that he wouldn't want that.

I dream about Jack every night waking up crying or screaming, the dreams about Jack have completely replaced the dreams about Anna and I'm starting to wish they didn't. After all, how can someone love a girl who let her sister get killed because she couldn't wait for a second longer to get that stupid necklace.

I dropped it into the sand on my birthday night and haven't bothered to go back and get it since. I love Jack so much it actually hurts, when I see him in the halls I walk the other way. I hear a knock on the door making me jump, I walk over to the door and am surprised by who is standing there.

"Blue..." Mason smiles sadly at me. Even though my hair is blonde now, the nickname still stuck.

"Hey, Mason." I say stepping back so that he can walk into the room.

"Blue, you have to talk to Jack. I can't deal with his depressed stoic behavior anymore."He says with pleading eyes

"I can't. He wouldn't want me to." I say bowing my head and smelling Jack's hoodie again.

"Are you insane? Of course he wants you to talk to him again, he loves you and from what I can see that's not going to change anytime soon. You need to get over yourself and talk to him because I know that you want to, I miss you and I miss yours and Jack's smiles."

"I did this, I'm the reason that my baby sister is dead." I say

"You know what else you did? You made Jack the happiest guy alive and doing this you made him the saddest. You have to work things out again." He says holding my hands. My phone rings and I run over to my bed to answer it as Max's name flashes across the screen. I send Mason an apologetic look but he smiles and dismisses my apology.

"Hey, Max, what's up?" I say sitting on my bed.

"You have a prom to get to." She says sounding proud of herself. Mason looks like he just thought of a good idea getting up and heading straight out of my room without a word.

"Max, I'm not going to prom." I say sadly

"Oh yes you are Muffin, and I'm coming with you."

"I don't have a dress." I try

"That's why we are going shopping tomorrow after school, meet me in the parking lot." She says and then ends the call not leaving any room for discussion.
