Ellie, Brooke and the baby eventually arrived at the human campsite and Ellie spoke to Brooke quietly below the little bit of hill left. "What are you doin?, just drop it on the ledge." Brooke put the baby on the ledge by itself.
"We should make sure they found him" Brooke suggested. "Good idea" Ellie agreed until Ellie picked up Brooke with her trunk and began lifting her to the ledge alongside the baby. "No, no, wait, wait, wait, wait" Brooke panicked as she was lifted and then put on the ledge.
"Don't spear me" Brooke begged closing her eyes awaiting for the worst but when it didn't come she opened her eyes and sew what was left of the campsite. "This is a problem" Brooke said to herself. "Now what?" Ellie said getting up the ledge herself and seeing also the remains of the campsite.
"That's perfect" Ellie said angrily to herself. Shira appeared from behind the smoke of the fires that were put out recently.
"I told you they were gone" she said to the two mammals
"Look who it is. Don't you have some poor defenceless animal to disembowel." Ellie asked Shira.
Brooke spoke up deflating the tension between Ellie and Shira.
"They couldn't have gone far. I mean, they went this way, or this way?" Brooke said looking around.
Shira approached Brooke
"You don't know much about tracking, do you?
I'm a Sloth I see a tree, eat a leaf that's my tracking" Brooke said whilst eating a leaf.
Ignoring Brooke Shira Spoke up "You didn't miss them by much." Pointing to the nest that used to belong to the baby Shira picked up a piece with her paw and looked at it and spoke again.
"It's still green. They headed North two hours ago." Brooke got two twigs and stuck them in her mouth like Shira's teeth and mocked her in a stupid voice.
"It's still green. They headed North two hours ago." Shira didn't notice and turned to Ellie.
"You don't need this aggravation. Give me the baby I can track down humans a lot faster then you." Shira said pulling the baby towards her with one of her paws. Ellie pulled back the baby with her trunk
"And you're just a good citizen helpin out" Ellie questioned uncertainly.
I just know where the human beings are." Shira said pulling the baby back to her with her paw.
"Glacier Pass" Ellie said quickly "Everybody knows they have a settlement on the other side" She said lifting the baby over Shira's head as she licked her lips whilst it passed over.
"Unless you know how to track, you'll never reach them before the snow closes the pass" Shira challenged back. Which should be like..." Shira counted her claws sarcastically. "tomorrow, so you can give the baby to me, or go get lost in a blizzard, it's your choice." Shira smiled slyly at Ellie.
Ellie passed the baby to Brooke. "Here's your little bundle of joy. We're returning it to the humans."
Brooke walked up to Shira and began stroking her fur sympathetically.
"The big bad tigey- wigey get's left behind, poor tigey- wigey Brooke said to Shira in a mocking tone only to be interrupted by Ellie.
"Brooke tigey-wigey is gonna lead the way." Brooke backed away from Shira whilst she growled quietly at her.
"Ellie, can I talk to you for a moment?" Brooke said shakily.
"No the sooner we find the humans, the sooner I get rid of Miss stinky-droll face, and the baby too." Brooke stopped in her tracks as Shira began circling her.
