WOOYOUNG;"how long does the damn essay have to be this time?" hwanwoong complained, rubbing his eyes.
wooyoung had just finished his four-hour lab for organic chemistry II, and to say he was tired was an understatement. his professor, wooyoung's least favorite, assigned his class a seven page lab report due by friday. wooyoung hated doing lab reports, but he needed it for his degree.
the two walked outside. it was getting a bit dark, the sky was a smokey blue-gray and there weren't many people walking on campus. wooyoung turned to his friend.
"were you not listening?" wooyoung scoffed. hwanwoong was never fully paying attention one way or another.
the elder glared and pushed his friend slightly, "no, i was too busy trying to come up with an tenable hypothesis that doesn't sound like a third grader pulled it out of their ass."
"well, we have to write seven pages persuading people to accept that hypothesis due friday, so have fun with wikipedia," wooyoung replied, laughing.
hwanwoong sighed in relief, "thank god only seven. i have two presentations due next week and i don't even have the title slide done."
wooyoung rolled his eyes, "you mean in physiology? you've had three weeks to do it."
"yeah, but for the first two weeks i was busy knowingly procrastinating."
instead of saying anything, wooyoung slightly nudged him. his procrastination wasn't healthy at all, but before he could voice his concerns, hwanwoong spoke.
"besides," he said, "if i pull a few all-nighters i'll have them done by friday of next week."
wooyoung rose one eyebrow, "isn't it due thursday?"
hwanwoong's eyes widened, "shit fuck- nice talking to you, but i need to go," the boy turned and bolted towards the dorms.
wooyoung stood and watched him with an amused expression. this wasn't the first time, and probably won't be the last, hwanwoong's procrastination bit his ass.
the lavender haired boy pulled his phone out of his pocket and texted his best friend, yeosang telling him he was done with his lab and offering to grab dinner with him.
he walked off school campus and decided to take a rather long way back to his apartment building. it was getting darker and darker every minute, but wooyoung kept humming along to an unidentifiable song.
the air was crisp and he was suddenly very aware of his own breathing. he couldn't pinpoint just what had changed from his very short walk, but it was something subtle; almost unnoticeable.
like he was being followed?
he turned to an empty street and immediately got an eerie vibe from it. he's been down this path millions of times, so why did he feel like it suddenly got longer?
each step he took, he became paranoid. someone was watching, something was near. he started to walk faster and faster until he turned the corner and bumped into someone's chest.
he looked up to see a handsome man, older than him by a few, smiling at him sincerely.
wooyoung gave him a tight grin and bowed slightly, "sorry, it was my bad."
instead of replying, the stranger looked over wooyoung's shoulder and mouthed the word "now."
before the younger knew was was happening, a pair of strong arms wrapped around his abdomen and a sweet-smelling rag was placed over his nose and mouth tightly.
wooyoung struggled to break free from the hold, but every time he moved, the person would grip tighter.
unlike the movies, wooyoung wasn't out cold in a few seconds. it took a while, around five minutes of squirming, before all he saw was black as his body went limp against the stranger.
but he could have sworn he heard someone whisper a sad apology against his ear.
