🌊 Percy 🌊

The sound of the conch horn being blown woke me from the dream I was having, the details already slipping away. Something involving peanut butter.

Frantic knocking came from the door of my cabin. When I opened it, Grover was standing in front of me, panic clear on his face.

"Percy! She... gone.... disappeared...." He wheezed, clearly out of breath.

"Woah! Catch you breath Grover." I said. He inhaled a huge gulp of air and then grabbed my shoulders.

"She's gone!" He said, looking me straight in the eyes. I could feel the fear and the panic that was building up in him.

"Who's gone?" I had a sinking feeling that I knew who it was, though I don't know if it was my sinking feeling or Grover's.

"Annabeth, she's gone."

*********

"We need to find her now Chiron!" Malcom's voice echoed through the big house.

"I understand Malcom. And rest assured, we have every camper looking for her." Chiron reassured Malcom, who was pacing the length of the room.

"It's not enough!" He shouted, wringing his hands. "I need to be out there, looking for her!"

Malcolm's voice cracked as he finally slumped into a squishy chair by the fireplace. I cleared my throat and immediately wished I hadn't. As soon as Malcom turned his head to face me, his eyes screamed murder.

"Percy, thank you for joining us. Grover." Chiron greeted us cordially.

I bit my lip as Grover dragged me into a chair opposite Malcom. With the look he was giving me, I almost wished that he would just stab me and get it over with.

"What's this I hear about Annabeth?" I say quitely.

"She's gone. Thanks to you, Jackson." Malcom said, barely contained fury hiding in his words.

It was my turn to get angry.

"Like it's my fault." I spit out, jumping to my feet. "Your sister was the one who broke up with me. Not the other way around."

Malcom jumped to his feet and pushed his face into mine, his nose barely an inch away. "No. You're the one who broke her heart for no reason. You're the reason she left. Not the other way around." He mocked me.

The realisation of his words hit me and I stumbled back into the chair. I was the reason we ended, not her. But then that means.....

"I was tricked."

Malcom looked unconvinced.

"Sure, pretend to be tricked so that you don't have to own up to anything."

"Malcom, enough." Chiron said sternly.

"He's not lying Malcom." Grover said quietly. "I can feel it, he's telling the truth."

Malcom's expression melted into one of disbelief before hardening again. A cold fury returned, but it wasn't aimed at me.

"When I find out who did that-"

The four of us were interrupted by a camper bursting in, Rachel in his arms. Green smoked billowed around her as he set her on the chair Malcom used to be in. Her eyes were half closed and glowing green as smoke poured out of her mouth.

"What is the meaning of this, Clay?" Chiron addressed the newcomer.

"I was... talking... with her... when...." He sucked in a large breath before continuing. "She... said... big house... Percy..."

He finally doubled over to catch his breath as Rachel's head slowly lifted. The lights in the room flickered a few times before completely turning off, the only source of light left being Rachel's eerie green mist. Her mouth opened wider and more smoke poured out, illuminating everyone's faces in a ghostly green light. The smell of snakes made it's way into our senses as Rachel began to speak in a raspy voice, full of an ancient power.

"Years behind the half bloods travel
As history is unraveled
The dead one will rise
And see the world with new eyes
The unseen is seen
As the moon starts to wean
6 mixed walk hand in hand
Walking through the new land
Sacrifices made by magic's choice
All ends, with wisdoms voice"

The smoke retreated into Rachel as if it was escaping from a larger predator. She let out a gasp as all the lights flickered on before slumping out of the chair. Malcom caught her before she hit the floor, easing her into the cushy chair he was just in as she coughed a few times.

"Annabeth...." Rachel gasped for air.

Malcom froze before grabbing her shoulders and making her look him dead in the eyes.

"What? What about Annabeth?" He demanded.

Clay wrenched Malcom off Rachel and pushed him back.

"Calm down man, let her catch her breath."

"No!" Malcom pushed against Clay, which made Clay push back harder. "She knows something about Annabeth!"

"I don't... know..... anything." Rachel wheezed quietly. "Just.... a feeling...."

Chiron placed a gentle but firm hand on Malcom's shoulder, steering him out of the room.

"You must calm down Malcom." Chiron fading voice said to Malcom.

"I'm not going to just calm down, Chiron! My baby sister is out there....."

Their voices dwindled away, leaving me in the room with just Rachel and Clay. I look at Clay and get a better view of him. Tall, athletic, handsome features, shaggy brown hair and soulful brown eyes.

He sticks his hand out. "Clay, Son of Nemesis."

I take his hand. "Percy, but you probably know that."

"Hell yeah I do, you're the only person who gives actually decent swordplay tips."

I laughed, for the first time in a while. I help him grab Rachel to steady her on her feet. My thoughts were running in circles as Rachel's head lolled onto my shoulder. She said that Annabeth was apart of this prophecy, which meant that I was going to find her and no one would stop me. Clay and I set Rachel down in a random room that looked like whoever had been there had left in a hurry.

The sheets were messy and an untouched cup of cocoa was on the night stand. And then I smelt it.

"This was where Annabeth was." I whisper. Clay gives me a weird look.

"How do you know?"

"Lemons." I simply say. He shrugged his shoulders and left me alone with Rachel.

I pull the covers up on her small frame as she lets out a puff of air. I flick off the light before leaving the room and head down to the rec centre. Everyone was already there. I take my seat as everyone whispers amongst themselves. Chiron rolled up to the table and laced his fingers together.

"Let's start this meeting, shall we?"
