CHAPTER 23:

As usual, Elena Summers is Late. That for today is acceptable, after all the drama that happened these few days. I got myself ready and rushed to the breakfast table. Grabbing a toast between my lips, I waved my hand to the rest and ran towards the door.

I still can't figure out why i couldn't tell Austin about all the things that are happening. I am starting to feel guilty. Whatever his reaction will be, i am going to tell him today evening.

I closed the door. And just when i thought, 'my life could not be anymore complicated than it is now' i turned around to find out how wrong i was.

I opened my mouth in surprise, that made the toast fall on the ground. "z-Zack?" i finally spoke.

I stopped before him, looking at the green eyes staring back at me. That adorable smile was still on his lips, but knowing him i knew that it was forced.

"I know you don't want to see me. Let alone hear me out. But please. Just give me five minutes!" He said weakly, putting his hands in his jeans pocket. I nodded even though i already knew everything.

He sighed with a sad look "Its about what happened with Ashley. I'll start from the beginning. Um, so That day. Remember When i didn't show up, where we had planned to meet?... Its just before i stepped out of my house to meet you, i received a phone call. It was Ashley's dad. He said that he wanted me at their house to talk about a scholarship for me in the sun sports college. Obviously since I never talked to him before, i had doubts. But even you know how much trouble i was having to find a place in a sports college with my grades. So that call was everything that had hope for my dream. With nothing else in my mind i rushed at his house. And there he said everthing clearly. Why he would do that and what i had to do to get that scholarship. I had t—"

"I'm sorry Zack!" I interrupted him with a weak guilty voice. He looked up to me confused. I sighed, tighened my palms into two fists and looked back at him "I'm sorry for every thing that you had to go through. I'm sorry that i couldn't find out why you were suddenly acting that way. And i'm sorry for making the situation worse for you. I always thought that i was the heart broken one. The hurt one. The girl you cheated on. I never tried to understand. Fu*k that, i didn't even hear you out when you even came to hawaii to explain. I'm just. I'm really sorry".

He looked shocked. Like really really shocked. He shaked his head and spoke "what. No! Don't appolozige. I was the jerk. I'm truly sorry Elena". It was quite awkward after that, i didn't know what to say anymore.

He then finally broke the silence "so... Are you forgiving me?". That smile of his appeared again, but this time it was genuine. I smiled back and nodded.

"um.. That guy. Austin. He seemed like a nice guy. So you two are dating now right?" He ran his fingers through his hair trying not to meet my eyes.

"Uh. Yes. We are trying the long distance relationship until college." I smiled not knowing what else to say.

Am i forgetting something? Why am i feeling as if i'm forgetti— "OH CRAP! I FORGOT ABOUT SCHOOL!" I panicked as soon as i saw the time on the watch Zack had on his wrist.

"well, looks like you haven't changed much in these past few months. Who can, except you ofcourse forget about going to school after stepping out of the house to go to school" he laughed while i was literary jumping on that spot.

"Ha! Ha! Very funny. You haven't changed much yourself. Always the One looking for something to tease me." I stuck out my toung at him as he chuckled. "ok i REALLY am going now. We'll keep in touch. Okay? Byee!" I screamed the bye part running away.

The long school day plus the two hours detention ended and i reached my room half alive. After the dinner, the endless family drama and the long bath, i sat on my bed with my laotop on my lap. Before i opened skype, i closed my eyes and muttered to myself "i am going to tell him everything. Everything".

"hey sugarpie" i chuckled waving my hand as my energyless boyfriend forced a smile. "hi" he said. "babe. Whats the matter. Did something happen?" I worried.

He sighed "Elena. We need to talk. Actually i need to tell you something". Again that mixed sad,angry,tired tone.

"i also have to tell you something." I said before continuing. "its about Hunter and Zack...". I finished explaining him all the things that happened so far. He sat there with his eyebrows lift up.

"Austin?" I called him worried. "uh. Yeah. I heard. Now listen to me" he said more like demanded.

What? After hearing all that. He has nothing to say? No questions. nothing? And why is he talking to me so coldly. Is he mad at me or something? But why. "um. Yeah?" I said nervously.

Austin, who was looking at the floor for quite some time, looked back at me and paused before speaking "Elena. we... We should break up!".

(A/N: DAN DAN DANN! I know, Another cliffhanger. But i am a big fan of cliffhangers. I think some of you have already noticed that. Haha. ANYWAYS. A new twist. The Austin, who was madly in love with Elena suddenly wants to break up? Why?? Leave your guesses in the comments. And in the next chapter it will be AUSTIN'S POV.
