Earth 5, Year 2058
Two speedsters zoom across Central. One fighting for good, the other fighting against himself. Red and green lightning trail behind them as they run. They were on their way to put out a fire, something they'd done many times.
Bart Allen or as some know him as Impulse, darted into the building to rescue the people who had fallen victim to the smoke. Thaddeus "Thad" Thawne or to everyone but a very few Inertia, has ran into the building to put out the fire, halfway hoping it would kill him first. If Eobard knew what he was doing it wouldn't end well.
After the fire was put out Thad ran out to meet Bart who was waiting near the crowds of people. Knowing all to well that in a matter of seconds his father or his aunt would show up he says to Thad, "I'll meet you at our spot but you might want to get out of here before my Dad shows up."
Thad doesn't say a word, he just takes off running leaving Bart to take the bunt of his Dad's wrath of working with him, alone. As if the two were fortune tellers someone did, in fact, show up, but it wasn't Don Allen, Bart's father. It was Wally West, his second cousin. Wally, in one swift motion, was picking him by the collar of his neck and super speeding him back to Star Labs where he found his mother, aunt, and team flash sitting there waiting for them. Even his grandpa and grandma were there.
But the only person that was missing was his dad. And that scared him.
Wally released him and then used his super speed to stand next Iris, his arms crossed. All the disapproving looks made him look at the ground in sadness. The familiar sound of static comes in and it cause Bart to lift his gaze up from the floor and up to his fathers. Don used his super speed and ran over to his son and grabbed him, running them up to the roof. Once there he stops running and sits near the edge, he motions for his son to sit next to him.
Bart does without question and his father says, "Bart, you know I've been right where you are."
"Yeah, I know dad. When you fell in love with mom." Bart says remembering the stories his mom would tell him about how they met and how everyone was telling them they shouldn't be together.
Don lets out a small sigh, somewhat wishing that Meloni wouldn't have told him stories, "Well that was one case. Others were times when I thought I could do things and I found out the hard way that I couldn't."
"You think I'm getting in over my head." Bart says standing up from the ledge and backing away. "You think I can't handle Thad, you think he's just like Eaobard. It's nice to know you don't have faith in me."
He takes off running back to the cortex and says to his family members, "It's nice to know none of you have faith in."
"You use to tell me that everyone can change, does that mean nothing anymore?" Bart asks, he turns to the rest of the group and then yells, shocking causing everyone to jump including his mother, "When did it stop meaning anything to any of you?!"
A tear slides down Bart's cheek as everyone turns away from him. In fear, they might break at the sight of the youngest speedster losing faith in those all around him. Before a one could say anything to him a swirling vortex opens up and begins to pull him towards it like a vacuum. Meloni grabs ahold of her son and tries to rein him back to the team but the force pulling him is just too strong.
He tries to pry his mothers' hands from his arms he says, "Mom, you gotta let me go. It wants me. Just let me go."
"Okay. Okay." She says before letting go, "I love-." She wasn't even able to finish her sentence before Bart was being ripped from her hands and through the swirling hole in the room. Everyone didn't know what to do, let alone how to react; even for a speedster, everything had moved so fasts.
Earth 1, Year 2019
Barry and the rest of his team had just gotten their life accustomed to Nora coming to the past from the future. Everything seemed to be perfect, the only thing they had to worry about was putting out fires or stopping the occasional meta from stealing money or something from a museum.
But little did they know their problems were going to begin shortly.
The same spinning wormhole that had gobble up Bart had done the same to Thad and it was there. Right in the cortex of Star Labs on a different earth. Cisco, Caitlin, and Ralph stared in amazement at what it was. They were shocked when it shot out two teenagers wearing inverted costumes of each other.
Bart quickly got to his feet and when he saw Star Labs he was easily confused, he was just there with his mom and every other speedster. "Dad?" He called out, hoping and praying he'd get an answer.
When he didn't, he started frantically started to look around. His eyes rested on Thad who was getting up from the floor, the wormhole that brought them had disappeared as soon as it brought them. "You!"
Thad's eyes went wide upon seeing Bart charge at him. Both were confused and very scared, the only constant thing they knew was that they each thought the other had caused this. Using his super speed, Thad runs forward and pushes Bart up against the wall. Bart pushes him off, red lightning flying off his body. "This is all your fault!"
Caitlin presses the distress signal on the cortex counter and Ralph asks, "Should we try and intervene?"
"No, this is a speedster fight." Cisco replies, "Only speedsters break up speedster fights."
The three watch the two speedsters fight, their different colors of lightning trailing around the room. Barry and Nora soon arrive in a matter of seconds, after they break away from the shock of seeing two other speedsters they quickly break them apart.
Bart smiling in happiness once he sees the familiar colors of lightning, Thaddeus flinching and curling away at Barry's touch causing Bart's smile to fade.
When the two saw Barry's face they knew something was wrong. Very wrong.
