(V) : Scarlet night

The clanking of amor could be heard moments before the guild doors opened. Anticipation was so thick in the atmosphere that you could reach out and cut it.
The usually lively guild was now for maybe the first time since it's creation was at a complete silence

"They'll be here in an hour" her voice rang out in the silence "we need to work fast".
A loud thud and the trashing of a certain dragon slayer
"I told you this isn't going to work -LET ME GO " Gajeel was telling and thrashing about in chains made of anti magic steel. Blocking him from using any magic to get himself free. Levy was right by his side to ensure that he kept his calm. She looked at him with concern in her eyes knowing how much pain he was in right now but this was his choice, he chose to do this against her wishes.
"He's going to go insane - and you won't be able to stop him" he was trying to warn them. When a slayer goes into heat they become as ruthless as a dragon towards everyone except their chosen. Gajeel knew well enough to leave it be but Erza and the rest of the guild was a different story.
   "It's only Natsu - I can take him myself" she said loud with confidence. She had engaged him in battle many times before and always came out the victor so in her mind there was no doubt that she would win.
"You fought a fluffy kitten compared to what you're about to face" Gajeel laughed with a smug look on his face. He could only see how bad this was going to end but at the moment there was nothing that he could do to stop it.

This had all started only 24hrs ago when Erza, Grey, happy, Wendy, and Carla had gotten back from the job

(Flashback to earlier)

"Im so glad to be hommeee" a small wind dragon slayer said with pure joy running up to the guild hall with pure joy in her voice. "Slow down child before you fall" her little companion warned her. Just as the small cat said that Wendy tripped on a rock that was blocking the path and was only caught by none other than Titania, Queen of the fairies.
"You should be more careful- and grey" she paused with an annoyed look on her face "where did your clothes go" Grey looked at her in confusion until he looked down.
His face went from chill and calm to shocked. "FUCK" he yelled out gathering up the clothes that he had unknowingly taken off not even minutes before. "Hey I'm going to go home early tell everyone I said hi" and with that Grey had made his way home for the night to have a well needed good night sleep. They said their goodbyes and went on each other's way.

           Happy had flown ahead to the guild in hopes that Natsu is already there stirring up some trouble. As they entered the guild a crowd of people had gathered around what seemed to be a loud commotion of sorts.
They made their way through the crowed to see a black eyed Gajeel chained to the wall with a weeping levy not to far away. The look on his face was pure distress and regret.
"What's going on!" Demanding to find out she grabbed Gajeel by the neck and raised her fist "I'm going to ask you one time" she paused letting the words settle in her throat "what did you do". He only looked at her and kept silent.  He couldn't bring himself to look anyone in the eyes right now. Knowing If he did he would lose control again. He needed time to calm down.
"ERZA- it's not his fault" levy called out to the scarlet haired women. Tears in her eyes she walked over to them. Her eyes were pleading with her to stop before she started. Erza saw this and loosened her grip on the iron beast. "Then why is he chained up" she said in her signature stern voice.
    Levy wiped her eyes with the sleeve of her dress and took a deep breath " it's because of the Dragons awakening- He was affected by Natsu" she said trying to hold the words together "when a dragonl/dragon slayers comes of age they release hormones that can potentially affect others of their kind that are close by" she looked away in embarrassment because she knew the onslaught of questions that was bound to come her way by the scarlet mage.
Erza took an interest in this and was growing more concerned by the moment "and what exactly is this dragon's awakening".
She had let go of Gajeel and slowly walked over to where levy was she was sitting. "And why is Natsu involved" she said as she walked over.
    "Dragon awakening is when a dragon's body reacts to his/her mate and proceeds to claim them- mates are life partners and they only get them once" she said looking up at Erza " and Natsu has been begun his awakening".
The look on Erza's face said it all, she was planning her next move. She looked up at levy "now answer this" she paused "why is Gajeel chained up".
More tears flowed out of her eyes as she spoke, "he lost control - I'm his mate and he" she paused "he just scared me that's all- please believe me". In Erza's mind this was a serious threat. She could tell that this Dragon awaking caused those affected to not have control over their actions and she was determined to stop it. There is no doubt in her mind who Natsu's mate was Lucy.
"Call up the thunder legion and everyone else you can get ahold of within the next couple of hours we're going to put a stop to this" everyone scattered at her command contacting everyone in the guild as they could. "Wendy will you be affected by this" she looked at the small girl in concern.
"No I'm to young - And I'm already aware of all this the dragon's teach these things to their slayers but we don't like to bring it up" she silently blamed herself for also keeping silent about this. "Please let me help in anyway I can" she said with determination. Hoping that this will make up for her silence. "Fine but only if things get serious" Erza always saw herself as a mother figure to Wendy and always wanted to protect her but at the same time she knew she that wasn't possible and with that the plans were made

(End of flashback)

        Natsu and Lucy had left the apartment and were now on the way to the guild. They had left way later than she had asked due to some errands that Lucy had to run.
The streets of Magnolia were quieter than usual but the sunset was beautiful. "Hey Natsu look at the sunset isn't it beautiful" she smiled at him with something that had never glowed in her eyes before.
"Yeah It sure is" he thought of how it was strange how Erza was acting earlier in the day "hey what do you think Erza wanted" he said In the most casual way possible. Lucy was walking and skipping along "I don't know I guess we will find out". She started humming along to pass the time but Natsu wished time would just stop.
'Lose control - take now' the beast within him was taking control over his thoughts but he pushed the beast to the back of his mind. He knew that as long as he was with Lucy he would be just fine. "Hey umm... Natsu.... what did you want to talk about earlier" she said awkwardly blushing.
"It was nothing - we can talk about it at another time let's just enjoy right now" he said with a toothy grin pointed her way.
As they approached the guild Natsu could smell that something was off and some instinct inside of him told him not to go in. He stopped all the sudden and Lucy noticed this. "Hey Natsu what's wrong" he just looked at her and she walked closer to him and pulled his hand into hers. "Come on let's go - everyone is waiting" she said with a smile and Natsu followed her in a daze. All he knew was that he needed to be wherever she was.

     Lucy opened the doors of the guild before Natsu and her face was blank. She looked at Natsu for some reason "Natsu do you know what's going on ?" He was confused as to why she asked but they went in anyway. "NATSU -"Erza yelled out to him even though she was only feet away. "This is for your own good remember that" she said and without realizing it Freed had snuck up behind Natsu and locked him up in the same chains as Gajeel. "I GOT THEM ON - now where do you want him" Freed had used the strongest enchantment spells that he had.
They took him down to the basement where they had earlier placed Gajeel in order to keep him secure.
Grey was holding back a frantic Lucy "WHAT ARE YOU DOING LET ME GO" she said hitting him frantically trying to get free from his grip. " I can't do that we will explain everything I just need you to calm down now" he said in a soothing voice trying to bring back reason to the girl. She calmed down to where she wasn't hitting anymore but rather crying against his bare chest. She was confused as to why the girl was treating her best friend this way. 'What had he done wrong' she asked herself over and over again.

Dragged into chains by Erza and the others. He was confused and hurt but more importantly his feelings were growing out of control.
    His vision went hazy and he lost control of his body the moment he heard Lucy sobbing and the sight of her being dragged away from him.
"Freed enchant those chains as strong as you can - Lucy get back -" Erza was commanding away and had no time to spare.
"Erza what's going on -LET HIM GO" Lucy was sobbing Still In Greys arms and furious at the same time. All the sudden Natsu let out a scream of pain as if he was losing a fight within himself. Everyone just watched as their friend turned into a monster.
His eyes grew red surrounded by black, black horns of a fire dragon emerged from his head, red winks, red scales sprinkled across his body, fangs enlarged, and sharp claws from his hands.
"Here we go - I warned you all" Gajeel said from across the room. Natsu's hair fell in front of his face where no one could see what his face had become. His beast was livid, he had been stripped of his mate and his freedom.

"Let me go - or face the wrath of the dragon" the voice wasn't Natsu's it was deeper and more animalistic. Lucy had no idea who was using Natsu's body but she knew it wasn't him and that was what she feared the most.
