"Somebody help me!" I screamed as I peered over my shoulder. The shadows were still following me. I didn't understand why. All I knew was that I was running for my life. Again.
Pain shot through my leg as I stumbled over a large stone. Inching my way over to the river bank, I glanced over my shoulder once more. They were still coming.
They had fiery red eyes and jagged teeth. They themselves were darker than the deepest pits of Hell. There was no doubt in my mind that there wasn't even an ounce of good in them.
I wasn't quick enough. They beat me to the river bank. I tried to run the other way, but they surrounded me.
"Anybody!" I sobbed. "Please!"
I feared for my life. For my friends' lives. I'd looked everywhere for Tyler, Josh, Marli, and Minzy. They were nowhere to be found.
I screamed. At least, I think I did. I couldn't hear anything after they enveloped me into comlplete darkness.
"AAHHHH!" I screamed and sat up.
CLING! My head collided with the top bunk of the bunk-bed my room-mate and I shared.
"Um... Ouch?" I rubbed the forming knot on the top of my head.
"Haha! You sure you're hurt? You sound confused," laughed Minzy.
"I'm fine, Minz, thanks." I smiled.
"Have that dream again?" she asked. YOu could see the worry begin to show up on her face.
"Yeah, but it was worse this time. They were laughing. Not in a 'haha' way, more like a 'mwahaha' way." I explained.
"Oh, Amber... I'm sure it's just nerves. I know how much you like Josh. Is it maybe that you have to see him everyday?" she teased.
"Ugh! Stop!" I giggled. I could feel my face turn bright red.
We bothe knew that Minzy was only trying to make me feel better. It wasn't doing much, because she had been having the same dream.
She would wake up screaming around midnight. I would sit up in my bed and worry, for I knew it meant I was going to have the dream again.
