This Christmas has been my best Christmas ever, I don't think anything can top this one and I'm hoping that nothing ever can, I'll never forget this term.
Breakfast and lunch were normal, no big fair since there's a big feast at the Ball. There was an excitement in the air at such an important and irregular activity taking place in the castle. We joked around all morning and most of the afternoon until it was time to start going up to get ready.
"Do you honestly need three hours?" Ron asked, when we separated from the group.
"See you later, Ron." I told him.
"Hermione! Who are you going with?" Ron shouted up the stairs.
"It's driving him crazy you know?" I told Hermione.
"As it well should, he forgets that while we are his friends we still are girls. I am a girl, I won't let him take me for granted anymore." She growled.
"You alright there? You sound like a jealous girlfriend, one who doesn't get the attention she wants from the boy she likes." I said with a laugh.
"What . . . no, I'm not . . . why would you?" she stammered, making me laugh.
"Hermione, I'm the one looking at you but I digress. Let's get ready."
Ginny came to our dormitory to get ready, she was going to stay with us since Neville invited her to come to the Ball. We hung our dresses from the bedpost bars so that they wouldn't wrinkle. Mione's dress was a light periwinkle with a few frills. Ginny's was a simple dress, pink with no frills just like its owner, the drawing that I had sent in at the beginning of term.
Now my dress was a tad bit different from theirs; all black, off the shoulder with a bit of a lace train. Sweetheart neckline with a thick sash around my waist, pretty much skin tight but not in a skimpy way. A very daring choice for Hogwarts but well worth it. Elegance and grace is what I was going for so I hope George really likes it.
"Your dress is amazing Ali! A lot better than that rubbish your mum sent you." Ginny said.
"Thanks, I designed it myself with Madam Maulkin along with yours. Dad didn't tell me why but he said that I would be needing a nice dress soon and then Mrs. Weasley informed us of the same. Since we're always going to some work dinner or things like that I didn't think anything of it, I figured that we were going to another dinner soon enough. All right girls, to the showers! We have a Ball to get ready for." I said.
After our showers we delegated chores; Hermione did our hair while Ginny did our nails and I took care of our make-up. We took care of each other and when the other three saw us they wanted in too so we took care of them as well. Our dormitory smelled of scented lotion and hairspray. Parvati and her friends left quickly and we took our time once again to finish getting ready.
"Are you coming down with us Hermione?" Ginny asked once we were finished.
"I think so, everyone should be gone and Viktor must be waiting." She answered, her cheeks lighting up.
