This is my first fanfic (unless you count kindergarten where I scribbled on...
Bright colors zoom in lines towards me like rainbow-colored meteors, on the right side of my field of view I notice the system going down a checklist of senses.
"Touch: OK"
"Sight: OK"
"Hearing: OK"
"Smell: OK"
"Taste: OK"
"I can see again!"
"Welcome to Sword Art Online! Please enter a username in Hirigana to begin. You can either spell out it loud or use the touchpad."
"Hirigana? Okay, Hibiki can translate into Echo in English so there's my name."
After inputting my username the system transitioned me to a circular area with an avatar in front of me.
"By default, your avatar will look just like you when you completed the calibrations. Feel free to change any appearance options. Confirm your avatar to begin the tutorial." In parentheses it says "(Note you can change some options later on in the game as you play.)"
"So that's what I look like, medium length white hair, soft red eyes, and kind of skinny."

A quick flash of light popped and I appear in a big open field.
