The cold air turned to mist as you let out a breath. The white landscape was all you forced yourself to see. The air the only thing you could hear.

You could see people on the sidelines on the corners of your eyes, jumping and whistling and cheering. Some held up signs.

You took a deep breath and looked at the other competitors. They all looked dead set to win.

But so were you.

The whistle blew and everyone charged down the hill with their snowboards and determination.

You were set towards the back. You managed to pass a few and went around the flags. The cold air turned hot.

You saw the top five and saw yourself just behind them, now in sixth. The fifth looked at you and huffed, drifting slightly to throw snow your way.

You dodged it with ease and rode over a snow hill, jumping over him easily.

He didn't pay attention and managed to fall over in the snow, disqualifying him instantly.

You smirked and went faster. You went around the planted flags and were close to the end of the race when you were in second.

Then you were head to head. The two of you locked eyes before he tried to push you off your board.

You got away in time to see him fall. You went faster to the finish line, your fans cheering you on. You past the finish line.

Someone gave you a trophy and you held it up as everyone cheered. You won the race.

You could see a green muscle car and a silver race car honk and flash their lights. You laughed and waved your trophy at them, their engines roaring.
