"Oh you're home early. Where's Julius?"

Brielle immediately sat on Stella's bed and blurted out, "Someone saw me."

Stella turned away from her laptop and stared at Brielle, "W-what do you mean?" She asked.

"A girl who apparently fancies Julius saw me save him and she threatened to reveal what I am to some researchers. I looked up her last name. Her father is the top researcher in new aquatic species and basically a much evil version of Sea World. She even was able to take a picture of my tail when I swam away," Brielle informed Stella as Stella grabbed Brielle's hands.

"How dare she! Let me teach that girl a lesson," Stella stood up as she rolled her sleeves up.

Brielle grabbed Stella's sweatshirt and shook her head, "This girl means business, she said she already showed the picture to her father and her father has been intrigued with us since he saw it. But she didn't disclose location because she wanted to use it as blackmail. All she told her father was a friend sent it to her while surfing. Her father at the moment has put his search on us on hold till he finds out where we reside at. I don't want you to endanger yourself," Brielle explained.

"But, I won't turn into a mermaid when I come into contact with water, so how is she going to prove that I'm a mermaid? The one that needs protecting is you. Does she know how mermaids function?" Stella asked as Brielle shook her head.

"No, but I don't want to take any chances. I'm going to keep my distance from Julius as much as possible."

"But how? Julius clearly likes you a lot!"

Brielle shrugged, "Apparently, I just have to not initiate anything and decline all invitations to any dates he offers and we will be safe."

Stella groaned, "Does she think she's in high school?! Like seriously grow the fuck up! Excuse my language."

Brielle frowned, "Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'm just going to go work on apothecary business matters and then go volunteer," She stated as Stella nodded.

Brielle headed toward the bathroom as she grabbed her notebook underneath the countertop and bit her lip.

Will everything really be okay?

"Oh my god Cain?! What the heck are you doing here? I thought you were back at our land-city!"

Brielle dropped her notebook as she immediately slammed the door open and ran down the stairs. Her heart stopped as she saw the familiar dirty blonde hair and green eyes.

"C-Cain? What brings you here?" Brielle stuttered.

"Didn't you get my letters? I decided to enroll to your university for the medical program! I called your dad and he gave me your address so I decided to pop in and say hi!"

Brielle heart pounded in her chest. She was not ready to see Cain at all, she would have never thought she would see him so soon. His family history was basically the body guards of Brielle's family before the whole monarchy ruler system died, though that didn't stop the two families to be friends. And she still remembered his offer.

If you don't find someone you love. I can be the one to fill that spot.

She bit her lip before she shook those thoughts away and immediately gave him a hug.

"How are you liking the campus?" Brielle asked.

Cain grinned, "I love it. It's just like back at home, but with a new crowd. Anyways, we all should hang out! I haven't see you two for a long time since I was across the state."
