Charles Xavier looks a lot different in my head. When he arrives at our home he is anything other than what I imagined. For one, he is in a wheelchair. I imagine him with perfect posture, striding through the door on both feet. He is bald, I imagine him with dark curly hair. And he is at least fifty years old. I imagine him much, much younger. He is extremely polite, however, which I knew he would be.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Angelina," he tells me after being introduced by Mom. "Nice to see you again, Sabrina, Scarlet," he nods to my two sisters who sit beside me on our couch in the living room.

Both Scarlet and Bree are beside me. Bree is leaning forward, her eyes never leaving Charles', Scarlet is leaning back against the couch, not as engaged, probably thinking about something other than what is happening right in front of her. "Lina, Charles runs a special school for mutant kids. He made a deal with me and your sisters; when you finally showed signs of the mutant gene that the three of you could attend. And, if you want, you each could be apart of a.. special extracurricular activity the school offers."

I raise an eyebrow at the intriguing term 'extracurricular activity', but focusing on the information as a whole, I glance slyly at my sisters. This was huge, how have they not slipped up and mention this in the past years? "You guys knew about this?"

"Mhm," Scarlet hums and Bree nods in agreement, while Scarlet continues, "we always knew you were a late bloomer, but shit, you really took your time with this one, Lina."

"Scarlet, jar." Mom hisses, shooting a laser glare to Scarlet who produces a dollar from her pocket - as if she prepared for this moment - and shoves it in the community sweat jar that was full of a majority of her currency.

I turn my focus back to Charles Xavier, who's hands are closed together, resting on the arms of his wheelchair. He's hiding a chuckle. I bring the focus back to what was mentioned before. "What kind of extracurricular activity are we talking about?" It would be a lie to deny my interest.

He fights another grin, but in the end decides to show a full set of pearly whites. "It's a program I'm starting for mutants who want to help those who aren't like us. We're called X-Men. We carry out missions and protect humans from threats they can't protect themselves from."

This had to be a dream. It was like this man was taking the words straight from my brain. For as long as I can remember this is what I have wanted. I've wanted to be powerful, to protect people, to be a superhero! My entire life I tried to convince myself my fantasy could never become a reality. I spent years telling myself that in the end, I should be grateful of the human life I was given, and I was- I am. But I always wanted more. And, now, all of that could be possible. I look to Mom, she was nodding encouragingly. Then, to Bree and Scarlet.
