Sin's Lover
With a scornful smile,
Your lips write of betrayal and disgust,
Yet your sorrowful eyes beg for a whispered promise of trust.
You warn me of your corrupt soul,
That you are irrevocably damned,
Even though the naïve and blind paint you in a figure of a holy man.
Your heart is as dark as night,
Your innards were chiseled with fire,
And still I believe there is good in you,
My love shall never expire.
