You hummed softly as you skipped along the sidewalk. In a few days it would be your seventh birthday. You had been having some very strange dreams where a voice would talk to you about the light, and sometimes when you would wake a strange looking key that was way too heavy for you to hold would appear in your hand. Before you could ever get a good look at it the item disappeared into little lights. but you paid it no mind and tried to enjoy the world. You hummed softly as you opened the door to your house "momma!" You yelled running into the kitchen and hugging her legs before noticing a strange man talking with your father. The man had scars on his face, steel blue eyes and black hair with some grew pulled into a half ponytail. "Momma.." you mumbled not wanting the strange man to see you. "Hello there little one." The man spoke with a kind smile but a kind of sternness in his voice. "I am Master Eraqus." The man smiled holding out his hand. You hesitantly took it. "Im y/n" you said shyly with a soft smile. "Y/n..." you frowned looking for the source of a new voice. It sounded muffled, as if underwater. "Y/n!"

You shot up eyes wide as you turned to your blue haired friend "w-what?!" You snapped, not liking being awoken "I was in my memories Aqua!!" You whined as she shook her head "dreams" she corrected "not memories. Anyways, Up! Today we'll be training extra hard. Tomorrow is the mark of mastery exam after all." She smiled kindly though you groaned and flopped back down onto your bed. "Ven and I aren't taking it!! We're not even old enough!" You whined before a new voice made you jolt out of bed "oh I see, you're just bitter that Ven is better than you." A low voice teased as you turned to see your friend Terra standing besides Aqua at your doorway. "HE IS NOT- okay okay! Get out!" You sputtered trying to control your temper as they laughed at your frazzled state before you shut the door on them. You got dressed in a rush before running down the halls only to slam into a certain spiky haired blond "Ow! Ven watch where you're going!" You whined as you were yanked up to your feet. "Me?!" He shouted feeling offended "you're the spaz who ran into me!!" You puffed your cheeks out in annoyance before an you and Ven were both grabbed by the back of your shirts. "Now, you two aren't slacking, are you?" Terra spoke, trying to hide the amusement in his voice "because if im reading the time right, you're both late." You and the blond turned to each other wide eyed "RACE YA!!" You both yelled at once, bolting down the halls and out to the yard.

"Ugh I can't take anymore!" Huffed your blond friend as he plopped down besides you. "You totally got your butt beat by Terra! AGAIN!!" You cackled as Ven went red in embarrassment. Your laughed was soon cut off as you were pulled to your feet. "Your turn, y/n." Terra said as he summoned his keyblade. "What?! Aw Terra come on! We're done training-" you were cut off by Terra holding up his hand "Ven beat you here, therefore you were late. Now spar with me. This isn't technically training so no whining." He scolded as you gulped nervously before summoning your keyblade. Terra immediately started to attack. He wasn't as quick as Ven, but he was much stronger. You blocked every hit, but it was starting to wear you down. "Y/n attack me! You can't be afraid!" He huffed as he went to hit you again. You tried to block were too slow, his keyblade nailing you in the stomach, making you fall back and cough. "Up. We're not stopping until you get over your fear." You loved Terra. But teacher Terra was a nightmare for you. You sluggishly got up, trying to ignore a snickering Ven as you got back into a fighting stance. "You can't be afraid anymore. I'm not going easy on you this time." He said almost sounding sorry. He was right though. You were always on the defensive, so afraid of hurting someone that you held yourself back. You could never be a master if you didn't get over your fear.

You fell to the ground with a loud 'oof' your heart was beating so fast and hard it felt like you were going to explode. It had been at least three hours since Terra started to spar with you. You managed to get a few good hits on him, but you still kept on the defensive. A keyblade in front of your face brought you out of your thoughts. "...Y/n. We'll continue tomorrow after I take the mark of mastery exam with Aqua." He dispelled his keyblade before helping you up. You were covered in dirt and bruises. While you and Terra were sparring, Ven got bored and headed inside so you were left alone with Terra to walk back to the castle. "Don't give up." Terra spoke keeping you out of your thoughts "hm?" You hummed not sure what he was going on about "you'll get better." He said simply and you nodded, even though it felt like you were only getting worse.
You had dinner before heading to your room to shower. After that, you decided to read some books on fighting and on keyblade lore. Your sparring with Terra had you exhausted and before you knew it, you were out like a light.

I hope you enjoyed! Ive never written a story before, so I hope it was alright. I plan to go through the whole KH series eventually. Im planning to update at least every two or so days if I can. Thanks for reading ❤️
