The path splits

So fair warning, I hate this chapter. I mean, its just more boring plot stuff but I'll try and make it go by fast. If you want, just skip down to the end for important plot info. I hope you enjoy❤️

You and Ven began to walk down the street of a very...animated looking town. The buildings were comically shaped, there were tons of balloons and bright colors everywhere. Suddenly someone jumped down right in front of you and Ven, screaming 'tada!', causing Ven to shriek and grab on to you. "Wearin' the mask of peace and hope..." the person turned around to face you and Ven "..Comes the fearless defender and hero of this town!" The person looked ridiculous, you knew they weren't human from the cat-like ears it had. They were large and wearing what you guessed to be some kind of hero costume "it is me, Captain Justice!!" They said doing an awkward spin and striking a pose "uhm.." Ven attempted to understand what this guy's deal was as you just stared blankly as he began to walk over "Young fellow! Do my hero-senses detect that you got troubles?" He said before leaning closer to Ven "Lady troubles?" He asked and nodded in your direction. Ven's face got red "What?! No-" The so called Captain Justice cut him off "Just say the word, and Captain Justice will make all your problems disappear." Ven got a puzzled expression on his face "Who m-me? I'm just trying to make some- no, nevermind forget it." He sighed waving his hand in front of him as Captain Justice laughed "Don't be intimidated by my magnificence." He then went on about something before telling you and Ven to vote for him, only to have him back track and once again say he was only there to help. "Hmm..." Ven hummed and crossed his arms as you continued to take in your surroundings. Ven asked Captain Justice to tell him about the town, and why it looked so festive. Captain Justice explained that the Dream Festival was going on and how he made it all happen. He told you and Ven to remember it was Captain Justice who helped you. "Uh yeah.." you nodded "We got it uh, Captain Justice." Ven added Before you heard Voices complaining about an ice cream shop. "Trouble? Captain Justice is on the way!" He announced before jogging towards the group. "A festival huh..?" You hummed, deep in thought as you looked at your bracelet from Zack. 'Wonder if he likes festivals..' you thought to yourself before Ven grabbed your attention "Hey! Maybe we can make some new friends." He said grinning, you smiled and nodded in response "yeah! For sure!"

You and Ven decided to see what all the fussing about ice cream was about. "If it isn't the fellow I helped solve all his problems! I'm afraid you'll have to wait in line, i'm helping my dear friends Huey, Dewey, and Louie. They're facing a catastrophe!" He said gesturing to a duck in blue, next in red, and the last in green. "I wouldn't really call it a catastrophe." A mouse wearing a big fancy dress and a crown said as the ducks agreed. Captain Justice shook his head and expressed that the situation of a broken ice cream machine was indeed a catastrophe, and he believed it was sabotage. "Not even close!" Huey said angrily "quit making stuff up!" Dewey gestured to the strange looking contraption "it's the ice cream machine! Uncle Scrooge left it for us." They sighed deflated "we can't figure out how to get it to work..it's so complicated.." Louie mumbled  "aw we're sorry Queen Minnie." Huey spoke dejected "we wanted you to be the first to try our special recipe ice cream..." the queen sighed and smiled at them "it's very sweet of you boys to think of me." Suddenly, Captain Justice spoke up "Say no more— two bowls of ice cream comin' right up!" The ducks got terrified looks on their faces "Just leave it alone!! You're going to make a mess!" Huey yelled at captain Justice, who then proceeded to stand kicking and hitting the machine "it's just busted! Thing just needs a good poundin'!" "It does not!!" The queen cried and you cringed. The whole situation is so overdramatic and you didn't have clue as to what to do. "Hey, do you think I could give it a shot?" Ven asked as Captain Justice shook his head "No, if Captain Justice can't fix this, no one can!" He said dramatically making you facepalm "maybe not" Ven said again "but there's no harm in trying." You smiled at the determined blond next to you. He always wanted to help, and that's what you loved most about him. Ven was given the directions for the machine and he got to work. You occasionally would try and help— only to have him swat your hands away. Soon enough, Ven got it up and working again. You all got some ice cream to try and everyone seemed to really like it— except you. You liked ice cream, but this ice cream was way too sweet. The queen began to thank Ven before she stumbled when it came to his name "Oh! I'm Ventus. Just Ven is fine." He smiled before she turned to you "and you dear?" She asked "oh! I'm Y/n." You said and she giggled "you two are very sweet together." She said making your faces go red "What?!" You yelled "N-No! We're not—" she giggled and apologized. The triplets began to talk about how they could have the customers make up their own flavors. "Not with that machine!" Captain Justice said as he stomped over to it. "That kid may have gotten it to work— but junk like this needs to get Junked!" He said reaching for it "Oh no you don't!" You yelled as you and Ven got in a fighting stance "Don't you dare Pete!" The queen said and he grumbled something about how 'Captain Justice would return' "Pete..?" You questioned "That's his name." The queen explained "geez Y/n, you didn't think his name was actually Captain Justice did you?" Ven teased and your face went red with embarrassment "o-of course not!!" You huffed and crossed your arms. Huey explained Pete was calling himself Captain Justice in order to try and win the million dreams award. Minnie explained that the award goes to the most exemplary citizen, and the event is supposed to celebrate how everyone cares for each other. "Wish someone was lookin' out for me.." Ven mumbled "What?" You asked stepping away from him, those words made your heart hurt. The familiar cold, heavy ache that was the darkness swallowing the light in your heart returned. "Y/n...I didn't mean it like that." He said putting a hand on your shoulder but you shrugged it off "How could you mean it then? I left home for you..." you shook your head "I guess I wish I had someone looking out for me too." You said coldly before walking past him
"Y/n wait" Ven weakly called out to you as you activated your armor and took off, leaving Ven looking after where you once stood. If only you knew that would be the last time you'd see him before it all went wrong. If only you knew of what was to come. If you had, Maybe you would have stayed.

So its the end of Chapter 10! Im sorry it was kinda bad..but it WILL get better! Thank you all for your support...it honestly makes my whole day better. Until next time❤️
