Of Mice and Men

"Question," you began as Ven paced back and forth in front of you "Now, I dont mean to seem ungrateful, Ventus, but it appears that WE ARE IN A CAGE!" You yelled annoyed. When you and Ven arrived in the next world, you ended up in a odd looking cage in a fancy livingroom "Oh really?" Ven asked feigning shock "because I HAD NO IDEA!" He yelled back he grabbed on to the bars "and how did we get so SMALL" he yelled loudly before hanging his head. Oh yeah, and you both were smaller than the size of a kitten. A woman entered the room and picked up the cage "woah!" You and Ven struggled to stay upright. As the cage was tilted, Ven lost his balance and fell back, hitting you and slamming you both to the back of the cage "Ow! Ven you need to lose weight." You complained as he elbowed you "I'm thinner than you!" He hissed and you fake laughed "Oh riiight, its just your big head that weighs so much!" Before you two could bicker and further, the woman peeked inside "Don't be afraid- oh!" She looked at you two in shock "why, I've never seen mice like you two before!" She said looking at you both with a perplexed look on her face "Mice?!" You both repeated confused "Jaq, you better explain to things to them." She said as she gently set the cage on the floor. Well, she thought it was gently, but it felt like you were forcefully thrown to the floor. "Uhm..." you tilted you head in confusion as Ven wore an expression of shock on his face. A mouse a little bigger than you, walking on two legs and wearing an orange jacket, red shirt, and red hat walked into the cage and over to the both of you. "Now, Now, Now. Look little guy and uh little lady! Take it easy." He said seeming overly happy. "Nothing ta worry about. We like uh you, Cinderelly likes uh you too! She's uh nice, very nice!" He rambled as you rubbed the back of your head and Ven smiled at the mouse and at the apparent 'Cinderelly' "Come on now, Zugk zugk!" He said before leading the two of you out of the trap. Once you were out he turned to you both "Name uh Jaq!" He said happily "I'm Ventus, Call me Ven." The spiky blond introduced himself and Jaq turned to you "Y/n, pleasure to meet ya." You smiled kindly at him. "Okay Ven, Y/n, need something? Ask Jaq!" He said rather proudly "i'll be sure to remember that." You heard a terrible shrill voice yell from somewhere in the house "Cinderella!" She sighed and stood up. "Oh well, better get back to my chores then. I'll talk to you later Ven, Y/n." She smiled before going off. It made you sad, she seemed so sweet. She kinda reminded you of Aqua. Oh Aqua...you never even said goodbye to her. The thought of your friend made you homesick until Ven pulled you back to reality "hm?" You hummed blinking at the boy who was currently waving a hand in front of your face. "Were you even listening?" He asked and you shook your head "Not really...sorry." He sighed before smiling. "Come on, Jaq is showing us the house!"

"Woah what's that?" Ven asked as we looked out the window in Cinderella's room. "that's obviously a castle." You said rolling your eyes "ow! Hey!" You groaned as Ven hit your arm. "That's the King's palace. Gonna be a big ball there tonight!" Jaq said and you smiled "A ball? Wow.." you let out a dreamy sigh. You weren't really the princess or girly type, but you'd be lying if you said you never wanted to wear a ball gown. "Is Cinderella going?" Ven asked as he looked out at the Castle. "I dont know.." Jaq responded. As if on que, Cinderella walked in to the room. "Hello you three. Friends already?" She asked smiling and you nodded happily as the two others agreed. "Oh thats wonderful." She said before humming and messing with a dress that was on a stand. "You sure look happy Cinderella." Ven said and she nodded before turning back to the three of you "why yes! Im going to the royal ball tonight." She said and your jaw dropped "wow! Really?" You asked feeling excited for her but were interrupted once again by three voices yelling for a Cinderella "Oh well, my dress with have to wait.." she said as she sighed dejectedly "Alright, alright. Im coming." Jaq then explained how her step mother and sister will make her work all night so she cant finish her dress and go to the ball. He then got the idea that you three could finish it for her. You were given the job of decorating the dress with Jaq while Ven gathered everything you needed from all over the house.

"Hm...it's still missing something.." you mumbled as you placed your chin in your palm, deep in thought. A pretty pearl!" Jaq exclaimed before sending Ven off to get one. After a few minutes of fixing minor thinngs about the dress you looked back to Jaq "maybe you should go find Ven. He's not great with directions." You said and Jaq nodded "Oh zugk zugk! Good uh idea!" He said before running off, leaving you alone with the dress.

"So let me get this straight, you beat up a cat?" You asked narrowing your eyes at Ven. Apparently he took the pearl from the cat Lucifer, and was nearly attacked before Jaq began to throw yarn at the animal. Jaq had fallen and Ven then needed to protect Jaq. The whole thing seemed quite ridiculous to you. "He would have killed us Y/n!" He said dramatically "yeah, sure." You smirked before Jaq told you both to hide the dress. About an hour later Cinderella came in looking depressed. She sat on her bed and looked out her window longingly at the castle. "Oh well, whats a royal ball? I imagine it would be dreadfully boring...a-and completely...completely wonderful.." she said sadly "Cinderella!" You called out to her and she looked over. You Jaq and Ven revealed her dress to her making her gasp "is that my dress?" She asked you three. You and Jaq nodded happily in response "Yes. It's a present from us." Ven said smiling brightly "Now you have a dress for the ball!" You added cheerfully. She picked the three of you up so you were standing on her palms "Oh it's such a surprise! Thank you.." she said looking so happy that it made you feel all warm and fuzzy.

You, Ven, and Jaq all sat on Cinderella's windowsill, staring at the castle and at the night sky. "I hope Cinderelly dream come true." Jaq said "I hope so too, Jaq." You agreed and Ven nodded "yeah." "what is Ven-Ven dream?" Jaq asked and Ven looked confused "hm.." he thought for a moment "I...I've never really thought about it, until you asked me.." he held out his palm and his Keyblade appeared "my dream..is to be a Keyblade Master." He said with a determined look on his face. It made you smile to see him look so sure of himself. "What is Y/n dream?" Jaq asked and you hummed thoughtfully "well..." you took out your good luck charm from Aqua and smiled at the warm feelings it gave you "My dream..is that Me, Ven, Aqua and Terra will all be together again." You said with a small smile. If only you knew how impossible your dream really was. "Come on Y/n that's not a dream!" Ven teased "We'll be home by next week." He said confidently but for some reason, that didn't feel likely to you. "Yeah..I'm sure you're right." You said staring at the night sky. "I hope Ven-Ven and Y/n dream come true." Jaq said making you smile "Thanks Jaq." You smiled at him. You spent the next few hours with the two of them, staring at the night sky and thinking of Aqua and Terra.
