This is a non-cannon chapter— just as Hiraeth was. I hope you guys enjoy this, i worked extra hard since my last chapter was so awful.

You awoke to the subtle sound of waves and voices. "She's waking up!!" A young boy's voice excitedly said "About time." Another young voice added "It's been like an hour!" Your eyes opened but immediately closed when the harsh rays of sunlight hit your eyes. "Ow..." you sighed and looked to your left to see two boys, looking around the ages of five to six. One of them slightly taller than the other, with silver hair and aquamarine eyes, he had a stoic, yet curious expression on his face. The other was a bit shorter with dark brown hair and deep but bright blue eyes. "Hiya lady!!" The brunet spoke with a bright smile "uh hey." You said awkwardly rubbing the back of your head. You went to look at the boys again but your eyes lingered on The brunet. Suddenly before your eyes, he seemed to turn in to Ven, but as soon as it happened he was suddenly someone else— no he was the young boy again, but much older. You stared with wide eyes "uh Lady?" The silver haired boy spoke, pulling you from your thoughts "huh?" You looked back at the brunet to see he was looking like himself again, but had a worried expression on his face. "O-oh, I'm sorry." You sighed and a hand was stuck in front of your face. "Riku." The silver haired boy said, and you took his hand "I'm Y/n." You said smiling before the brunet stepped forward "And I'm Sora!" He cried cheerfully, making you giggle. "Are you from the outside world?" Riku asked "How did you— I-I mean no! There is no outside world." You said clumsily. "No, you're not from here. You must be from the outside world." Riku said and Sora frowned "she says she's not, so we should believe her!" He said looking at Riku with a determined look. As the two bickered you looked around and a tree caught your eye. It was a tree with star-shaped fruit.. 'somewhere, there's this tree with star-shaped fruit. And the fruit represents an unbreakable connection.' Aqua's words ran through your head. "Y/n!" Sora pulled you out of your thoughts. "Yes?" "Wanna play tag with us!?" Sora asked excitedly "Yeah! Sounds fun." You laughed and stood up. "You're it Y/n!" Riku called as the two boys ran off.

You had been playing with the boys for a while when the three of you sat on the tree that had caught your attention earlier. Something about Sora was bothering you— not necessarily in a bad way, but it made you wonder why you felt so drawn to him. You felt the familiar heavy and cold feeling of the darkness in your heart, and for once you were glad for it. After finally making your mind up, you looked over to the spiky brunet. "Say Sora," you started "Can I talk to you for a second?" You asked and he smiled and nodded before hopping off the tree and following you down to the beach. "What is it?" He asked as you knelt down in front of him and ruffled his hair. "What do you know about the outside world?" You asked and he put his finger to his chin in thought. "Well, Riku says that the stars are all different worlds." He said nodding in conformation, making you giggle. "Yes, thats what people say, isn't it?"  You asked looking at the sun-setting sky. "Sora," you turned your attention back to him "Now, I'm going to tell you a secret. But you have to promise to keep it." You said holding out your pinky "Don't worry Y/n! I'll keep your promise!" He said linking his pinky with yours. You laughed and pulled your hand away. "Out there, are many people who need me." You began as he looked at you eagerly, wanting to know the story you were going to tell him. "They're my friends now...and it's my job to protect them." You said with a serious expression on your face. "My responsibility scared me at first. I didn't want to leave home... and now.." you clenched your fists "I'm not afraid of my responsibility anymore. But I...I want to go home." Sora frowned touched your shoulder "why can't you go home?" He asked as he tilted his head "Because out there people need me, and I can't go home without my best friends." You said smiling as you thought of your friends. "Sora..my light is fading away." You placed a hand on your chest "But my friends...the worlds..they need me. Sora, they need you." You summoned your Keyblade, your hand shaking slightly "One day soon, my light will be all gone...but my friends will still need me. Sora, You'll take care of them for me, right?" You asked with a sad smile and Sora grinned "of course!" He suddenly deflated "but...you're my friend too. Can I keep you safe too?" He asked and you nodded and pointed to his chest "Keep me right here, and I'll always be safe." He nodded "Don't worry Y/n!" He said before striking a heroic pose "I'll keep you and your friends safe! And the worlds too!" He declared and you ruffled his hair before holding out the handle of your Keyblade to him. "In your hand take this key. So long as you have the makings, then through this simple act of taking, its wielder you shall one day be." You looked up at him "And you will find me— friend. No ocean will contain you then. No more borders around, or below, or above...so long as you champion the ones you love." You finished and gave him a smile. He smiled back and took hold of the handle. "Sora!!" Riku called running up to the both of you "Your dad is calling for us." Sora nodded and they started to run off before the stopped "Y/n will I see you again?" Sora asked frowning. You giggled and pointed to his chest "I'm right there remember? You promised to keep me safe there." You said and he grinned "right!" Riku then looked at you "Will you come back?" He asked and you smiled "maybe one day." He nodded and gave you a smile
"Bye Y/n." He said before running off towards the docs. "Goodbye!" Sora said cheerfully as he gave you a smile before running off after Riku. Your smile turned sad and you sat down before pulling your knees to your chest. "At least I have someone to take my place." You nodded and sighed, you began to play with the bracelet Zack had given you "I'm sorry, Zack. I'm not so sure I can keep my promise." You said as you felt your eyes water. "No! Come on Y/n! Keep it together! The sadness makes it stronger.." you said to yourself as you placed a hand over your heart. You didn't like admitting it, but you felt much weaker than before you left home. You were always tired, you always felt cold, and your fighting was getting sloppy. You took out your wayfinder and smiled "Terra..Aqua...Ven..Thank you." You stood up and put the charm back in your pocket before activating the armor on your shoulder. You couldn't just give up— your friends and the other worlds needed you. You hopped onto your Keyblade and off you went, ready for your next adventure.
