Chapter 15

Chapter 15- Joining Forces

Scourge's point-of-view: I opened my eyes and felt pain go all through my body. I sat up and saw a hole through the roof. (dam, sophie must've got away). Susie sat up and held her head in agony. "when I get my hands on whoever did that.......".    "save it Susie". "we have more important things to deal with right now".   "like what"? she asked smartly. "like telling the boss she got away, or would you like to do the honors"? I smartly replied back. she was silent. "exactly".   we saw an orb of energy, pop in the room. we both stood straight up. (here we go). our boss walked in casually. "let me guess, she got away"? "yes, b-but descendant, we tried our best, honest"! Susie stuttered. "well you certainly didn't try hard enough". he rose his hand up and Susie began to float in the air. He started curving up his hand and started slowly closing it into a fist. Susie started choking. "please, don't". she struggled to talk. Descendant then made a fist and squeezed it tight. Susie's eyes closed and she stopped breathing. he then opened his hand and dropped her to the floor. she laid there dead. "unless you want that to happen to you, I suggest you get back to work". he then vanished. I looked at Susie (what the hell have I done)?     Normal point-of-view: we all headed straight for egg man's base (or what was left of us). (which was me, shadow, sonic, knuckles, tails, miracle and mother nature). I felt pain in my heart and stopped dead in my tracks. I looked at the ground and felt tears forming. shadow turned around and saw me stop. "guys, go up ahead, I'll be right there". sonic and the rest then took off and shadow walked towards me. "hey, are you OK"? he asked. I then shook my head no. "everybody is dying because of me and and I just wish he killed me instead of the others". "it's all my fault, I'll never live this down"! I then started to cry. shadow grabbed my arms. "look at me, everything that has happened is not your fault"! "it was all part of descendant's plot and I don't want you dead". "not now, not ever". "but shadow.....?"  "no, you are too precious to me to lose and I Will protect you". I then grabbed him and hugged him tight. "thank you, shadow". "your welcome". we then heard fighting up ahead. "let's go". he said as we ran up ahead to the commotion.  ~  we then saw sonic in fighting stance, along with the rest of them. "what's up"? I asked. "that's what's up". sonic then pointed to the green hedgehog, that we all know and despise". "what are you doing here, scourge"? I asked demandingly. he started backing up. "I'm not here to pick a fight with you, OK". "then why are you here"? asked knuckles impatiently. "I'm here because I want to help you take down descendant". we then all looked at each other in amazement. "look, he tried to kill me, but killed my partner, Susie, instead". "I'm willing to save the world if you are". sonic then stepped forward. "how can we trust you, to keep your word"? he then sighed. "fine, then go ahead and kill me". he then handed sonic a chaos energy gun. we all were in amazement again. "no, were better then that". I spoke up. "I don't know sophie, the guy is pretty evil". replied knuckles. "shut-up". everyone then got quiet. "your welcome on our team; but if you step out of line, there will be trouble". I said. scourge then shook his head in understanding. "you got a deal". "oh and by the way, Eggman's base is that way". he pointed behind us. we all slapped our foreheads in disbelieve. "let's roll". he said. we then all headed in the other direction and took off.
