When the bus arrived at school and Sal managed to shake Larry awake they both ran into school. Travis was waiting for Sal by the door smiling and pulled him into a tight hug. Travis noticed everybody staring at him and moved out of the hug quickly.

"I don't want them to think, I'm a-a faggot," Travis stuttered as he pressed himself against the wall. He realized what he said before Sal could answer and began rapidly apologizing.

"Chill out dude, I understand that this is all knew to you and stuff," Sal said comforting the boy.

"Just don't be affectionate towards me, I don't-" Travis didn't know how to word what he was saying, the truth was he loved Sal with all his heart and would do anything to lay in the boys lap all day. But he didn't want anyone to know, it wasn't the fear of his dad anymore but rather the fear of being a faggot in the first place. Sal didn't need him to finish but rather just smiled and nodded. They had a fair amount of classes together so they weren't gonna be apart much. Sal left Travis for a moment and found Ash sitting by her locker with Todd.

"Hey Ash!"

"Are you dating Travis?" Ash prompted.

"Oh well-" Sal knew full well that Ash wasn't gonna like the news, she hated Travis and unlike Larry wasn't exactly the most accepting of change. Todd was looking at Ash trying to signal her to calm down. "I uh- yeah..." Sal finally finished.

"He's gonna break your heart Sal!" Ashley exclaimed. Travis was watching from behind the corner, his heart dropped. He didn't even know if Sal loves him the same.

"No Ash he's not like that I swear!" Sal said as she tried to back away.

"Ash, there's nothing wrong with what's going on w-" Todd tried to explain but was cut off my Ash,

"Listen Sal your the best friend I've ever had and I love you with all my heart but Travis, Travis is a fucking asshole with no heart," And with that Ash stood up and walked away.

Sal and Todd looked at one another frowning before Sal turned back to see Travis, nearly in tears looking at them in the hallway.

"Shit," Sal said under his breath, not knowing that Travis had heard it too. He scrambled over to the blonde boy and they went into a corner we're nobody could see them.

"She's right Sal I'm an awful person," Travis sobbed into Sals black shirt.

"No Travis your not. Yes you've done some shitty stuff and nothing can make up for that but your not a bad guy," Sal was rubbing his back and holding the back of his head.

"I fucking love you but I shouldn't Sally Face."

"Hey, it's alright that you feel this way, it's okay your gay, it's okay we're dating. And look at it this way, if you go to hell I'll be there with you," Sal said comforting the boy.

"That's all I can ask for."

At lunch Travis slid into a seat next to Sal and hoped the rest of his friends didn't mind. Chug looked a little confused but didn't really care. Todd was just happy that Travis wasn't floating down the river and causing any more commotion. Larry was of course fine with it and happy for them. But then Ash sat down again.

"Get off of our table fuckwad," She said her tone raising.

"Ash!" Larry yelled. He wasn't aware of all the commotion that had happened before but knew Ash didn't like the idea of the boys dating.

Travis sighed heavily and began talking, "Alright Ash, we get you don't like our relationship, and I'm really fucking sorry about that, but your gonna have to live with it right now."

Ash looked shocked that Travis said anything that wasn't posing her as a faggot. She was speechless.
"F-fine," she muttered. She had no good argument and knew full well she would lose if they started fighting.

"Thanks Trav," Sal said quietly laying his head on the blonde boys shoulder. He shook him off and Sal frowned under his prosthetic. He reminded himself of the rules Travis had set this morning and sighed as he began to eat his food.

"So, hows everybody doing..." Todd tried to change the subject.

"I'm okay," Larry said poking and prodding at the sloppy joe on his plate.

"Yeah, me too," Sal replied. Ash didn't reply, everyone seemed annoyed at her, but they all loved her nevertheless.

Finally Larry spoke out.
"Alright Ash! Stop being such a bitch, them dating doesn't impact you in any way!"

"Okay!" She shouted causing a scene to the entire lunchroom. "Your right it doesn't, Sal and Travis make a fine couple!" The silence in the room made sure everybody heard the sentence. Travis started hyperventilating, trying to hold back tears from escaping his eyes he scooted away from Sal.

The other students in the cafeteria began making homophobic jokes, the words 'faggot' 'queer' and 'homo' swam around three room.

A few kids laughed, one kid even made a remark about how both boys would go to hell. The words filled Travis' head and he couldn't even hear his own thoughts anymore. Sal was dead quiet the entire time. Slumped back into his seat, ticked off.

Then a chant began one kid started it and the rest joined slowly. "Travis is a faggot" was repeated for what seemed like years in that minute. Travis couldn't hold back his tears much longer. He stood up from his seat yelled, "Fuck you all!" And ran out of the cafeteria. Sal quietly and calmly stood up from his seat, hugged Larry for a moment who whispered, "good luck" into Sal's ear, and left to follow Travis.

He found Travis in the hall by his locker just crying his eyes out. Sal didn't approach him but rather observed for a moment while Travis clung to his pink shirt for dear life and huddled himself against the lockers as he sobbed. Sal couldn't bear to see the other boy like this. He slowly took steps towards him, Travis didn't look to see who it was but rather exclaimed at him,
"If you're here to torment me go away!"

"Travis, it's me," Sal said calmly and quietly. Travis looked up from his shirt.

"Sal I-I-" He stuttered as he sobbed. Travis looked as though he was breaking, piece by piece just falling apart with every tear streaming from his glossy green eyes.

"Baby, it's gonna be okay I promise," Sal began sobbing too but didn't take off his prosthetic. "I fucking promise."

As a writer of not only gay fanfics but actual literature I enjoy writing this way more than I should, it might seem like this story is coming to an end but it's not I swear. Also I said this chapter would be a lot but I wanted more exposition to pursue the idea I have so it'll probably happen in two or three chapters. As always have a nice day bros!
