He shivers pleasantly in the cool water of a most brightest blue of springs that stops at his mid-waist. He wasn't used to the sensation of clean, refreshing water flowing across his skin. His bare lower half was slowly healing from the indescribable pain he just went through to give life to a small child that he currently holds in his arms. Fast asleep, the baby breathes so lightly and gently. Meliodas' bangs hovered over his eyes as he takes in Scarlet's face and tiny body. Slowly, he sinks into the chilling spring making him have goosebumps and stutter his teeth. He gasp, then sighs in relief. After his body relaxes, he slowly gave Scarlet a small dip of the feeling of the cool spring. She scrunches her face.

Meliodas' hands were so gentle with the life he holds so dearly, taking in everything that his months of suffering and enduring just barely paid off. His breath was still slim and faint from his - what felt like - an endless cycle of pain. Like the reaper of death itself tortured him endlessly.

He moved smoothly to sit in a shallow area of the spring water, up to his mid-waist. Meliodas then stroked the baby's head, cupping some of the fresh water to pour on the small frame. He was so careful with her, not trying to disturb her calm resting eyes that are still still closed.

A few minutes, and he rewrapped Scarlet into the towel that was laying in the grass, it had blood stains, but it was the best he could do to keep his baby warm. His lips pursed as he felt so unsure if he should lay his wrapped baby in the grass so he could get cleaned up, or should just skip his bathing... His thumbnail was brought to his mouth, tempted to bite in cautious thoughts of what to do.

"Let me take care of that, it's what Father's are for, right?" Meliodas heard that all so familiar voice above him and a shadow cast down on him. Ban carefully picked up his child, holding Scarlet close to his chest. Safe and secure. Meliodas wanted to smile - but couldn't - he would, but he didn't. Instead, he stared at Ban with a black stare then continued to wash himself.

Ban was a little shocked, but he could see why. Of course Meliodas would change after that experience, he was only able to speak when he was in urgent conditions. But now he isn't in any danger, but his past still haunts him. Memories that will be unspoken of forever including his thoughts lingering deeply as far as to nightmares in his sleep.

Meliodas looks down to the blue spring, watching the small waves from his slightest movements. And later, he starts to feel cold.

Not wanting to get any colder, he quickly cleaned up then got dressed after he dried in the cool - yet dense - air.

When he started walking towards where Aina starts a camp, he saw Ban slouched holding the baby that is sound asleep. Ban notices his lovers arrival.

"Meli! I was wondering when you will be back." Ban cooed.

Meliodas, again, merely looked at him. To Meliodas' left, there was Aina, calm and her eyes closed while in a sitting up position like she was half asleep and half awake. Her breathing was faint. Her hair was now very long her bangs were moved aside from her face, her bun she once had is no more. Her lips were full and eyelashes long. When she finally opened her eyes, those common brown ones were what Meliodas saw. But even though if they were a common color for the eyes, it reminded him of rich honey. Sweet, like her personality.

When she took notice of Meliodas, she welcomed him with open arms, patting her hand right next to herself, indicating for him to sit there. He didn't mind, but still said nothing. He strangely, obediently sat exactly where she asked him to.

As Aina looks in the sky, she saw different variations of colors. From a fire red, to a burnt orange fading to a darker blue. Night was near, and it's only sunset.
