Nick had walked back to his dorm and was currently reading on his bed, trying to convince himself to fall asleep when the time came.
He was glad he wasn't the only one who had changed in the bathroom; David had as well.
He faintly heard someone talking rapidly and looked up, trying to hear what they were saying as the voice got closer.
After not even a minute the door to their dorm opened, and boy who had to be Sebastian was there, talking on the phone. Either Nick's ears were broken, or he was not speaking English.
"Non, je ne veux pas passer du temps avec ma famille! Vous comprenez enfin!"
There was a pause.
"Ouais, je sais que je suis irrespectueux! Tu ne me respectes pas, je te mérespecte!"
"Je n'y retourne pas. Traitez-le," he spat, hanging up the phone.
Nick was a bit startled, quickly looking back down to his book.
"What's going on?" David asked.
You shouldn't have asked, you shouldn't have asked, you shouldn't have asked. Nick closed his eyes and waited for the boy to explode.
He just sighed. "Nothing important. I'm Sebastian, but you probably figured that out."
"I'm David, this is Nick. Are you sure you're okay?"
Don't push it!
"Yeah, I'm fine. Nice to meet you guys." He paused. "Are you... are you okay?"
Nick looked up, seeing they were both looking at him. "I'm fine. It's just, you aren't mad."
Sebastian chuckled uncertainly. "Should I be?"
"I- no, no, of course not," Nick said quickly. "It's just, you were yelling at someone over the phone. I guess I just expected you to be angry, since that's usually what happens."
He frowned. "Usually what happens with whom? I'm probably going to take calls like that a lot, but I'm not going to blow up at you guys."
Nick nodded, though he was sure Sebastian wouldn't be able to keep his word. After all, if taking out your frustration and anger on others was a choice, why did his father lash out at him and his mother after bad days at work and shouted phone calls?
David cleared his throat, awkward silence having fallen when Nick didn't answer. "So, um, you're French?"
Sebastian nodded, looking relieved at the change of subject. "I was born in Paris. I moved here a few years back."
"Just you?" David asked.
He nodded once more. "Yeah. My family's still in France. I was just on the phone with my mother, actually." He smiled ruefully. "She's trying to get me back."
David was quiet for a minute. "That sucks. My, um, my mom and I don't have the best relationship."
Nick paused. "I... I mean, I don't really know what to say. I feel like I should say something but..." he trailed off.
"You don't have to say anything," Sebastian reassured him.
The door opened before they could say anything else. Blaine hesitated as they all looked at him. "Did I interrupt something?"
"Not really," David said. "This is Sebastian. Where were you?"
He blushed faintly. "Nowhere."
David raised an eyebrow. "Better question, who were you with?"
Blaine's blush deepened, but he didn't say anything.
