When Jeff and Wes got back to their dorm, Thad and Kurt weren't there yet.
Jeff gently nudged Wes towards the ensuite bathroom, so he could make it look like he hadn't been crying before anyone saw him. Wes quickly took the opportunity.
He changed into his pajama pants since nobody was there anyway. He hadn't ever been particularly insecure about his body, he didn't really mind people seeing it. But now he felt some level of protectiveness, like if someone was going to see his body it could only be Nick. Which was admittedly strange, but they were dating now. He was Nick's. The thought gave him a warm feeling in his chest.
There was the sound of a key in a lock and he turned to the door, but it didn't open. He could hear people talking outside, though.
"-last time, you're being ridiculous."
"Please. Just check.
"Estás loco, enamorado cachorro."
(You're a crazy, lovesick puppy.)"I don't need your attitude right now, Señor Molesto."
(Mr. Annoying.)"Wow, remind me again why I like you?"
"Because you're crazy. Please."
"I already have. Well, offhandedly."
"And?"
"What do you take him for? Of course he isn't. You have good taste in people."
"You're sure?"
"Yes, David, I'm sure."
That's when it clicked in Jeff's mind, where he had heard the voice from. He recognized Thad, but he hadn't really spoken to David before so his voice only rang a faint bell.
"I'm sorry that I'm paranoid. I mean, I thought my mom was fine with it too, then it was her own child."
"No offense, your mom's a bitch and he's not her."
"Yeah..."
"It's the first day of school tomorrow. You need to sleep and stop worrying about this."
"Okay. Yeah, you're right. Goodnight."
"'Night."
Realizing Thad was about to walk in and he probably wasn't supposed to have heard that, Jeff turned away and pretended to be busy.
