"Logan!"

"Wha-?!" he shouted with heavy breathing. Logan was back in his bed. He had a dream within a dream. He looked around and saw his entire bedroom was destroyed; claw marks everywhere and things in the floor. Even his bed, the mattress included, was all scratched and shredded. "Geez." He breathed out, wiping his face.

He looked to the side of his bed and saw the Professor with Kitty, Rogue, Scott, and Leila. "What happened?" he asked them.

"You had one hell of a nightmare, that's for sure." Scott said with his arms crossed. He was annoyed being woken up from his sleep, but when he saw the Professor wheeling down the hall with Leila he thought he could put his annoyance to the side to see what was wrong. Now that he saw it was only Logan having a bad dream, his crankiness was kicking in.

"Are you okay, Logan?" Rogue asked in her Southern accent, sounding genuinely scared and concerned. She shared the same facial expression with Kitty who stood right next to her. W

"Y-yeah. I think so." He groaned.

"He's fine now. You may go back to sleep, thank you for your concern." Xavier spoke to the others in the room. They stayed for a little while longer. "Go. Except for you Leila. Stay here with Logan and I." Logan tensed up a bit at the name.

Leila.

She had sent him to his doom, the pain and everything in his dream. Usually his dreams were memories, but this... he knew it had never happened before, he could assure it.

"Why is she staying? You don't have to stay either, I'm awake and I'm fine now." He said breathlessly. Logan found it hard to keep his breath and the room seemed humid and hot, but everyone that was there was clearly wearing clothes that showed them to feel cold.

"No, I don't think you are, Logan." The professor spoke.

"What's that supposed to mean? Are you saying I'm not fine?" Logan shot back. He saw Leila flinch a bit, but he couldn't help it, he felt extremely stressed.

"I've had nightmares before, this shouldn't mean I'm not fine."

"I'm not entirely sure. This was different... do you know how long you were screaming and kicking before you woke up?" Logan shook his head. "Nearly two hours. I was afraid you would wake you would wake up the whole school. Fortunately, you didn't."

"Two hours...?" Logan repeated, looking down at the scratched bed. It had never been that long for him, longest was a few minutes. He didn't understand.

"Yes, Leila tried to wake you up and-"

"How could Leila have heard me from all the way down the hall?" he questioned cautiously.

"I-I'm scared of the dark, I didn't know what to do. You guys didn't have nightlights or anything... I just came to your room because- well, I know you better." She said shyly while looking down. "I was sleeping on the floor next to your bed and then you started making weird noises and then you starting kicking and screaming and... and I got scared and called the Professor..."

Logan stared at her for a while. How come he didn't notice her when she came in? He should have, especially if someone just waltzed right into his room and decided to sleep next to him. Was the nightmare that bad?

"We came to your room and we tried to wake you up physically, but you wouldn't wake up and kept trying to attack us. Then I tried to enter your mind and pull you out but... I couldn't for some strange reason. It's like something was keeping me out, but at least you woke up." Xavier finished.

Logan sighed and tried to stand up but his legs felt wobbly and his body felt weak. "Woah there, Logan, relax. I may have tired you out while I was trying to get you out. You still need to rest for a while, as do I..." Xavier said as he held his head. "Other than that, are you sure that you're okay?"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Go back to sleep. Sorry for that." Logan said a bit annoyed.

"I'll escort you back, Professor." Leila said quietly. She dragged her feet slowly as she walked alongside the Professor in his wheelchair.

Logan sat in his bed, not being able to do much-not even able to think right. It felt real and the way he reacted to it and what he did while he was sleeping was just... strange to him. His claws had popped out during his nightmares before but this... this was just entirely different.

Leila walked to the door with Xavier with just a little bit of light shining from the hall. She turned back slightly, letting Xavier ahead a little bit. She waited a little bit until Logan looked up to her and noticed her.

Leila smiled at him and said softly before following Xavier, "Good night, Wolverine. Sweet dreams."

The morning came soon and everyone was still asleep, a bit tired from Logan's little nightmare fit. Most had woken up, but none had gone to check it. It had still woken them up and interrupted their sleep so they had slept in. All but one.

Leila was up and ready before the entire institute and she was the one who had been mostly affected by Logan's bad dream, but she was still able to wake up. She had on a pink polo shirt with black jeans, some of the clothes that they had let her wear.

She had checked all the rooms earlier to see if anyone else was awake, but she was the only one so far. So to waste the time until they had woken up, she stood by her window looking up. She let her mind free and open as she looked at just a part of the vast woods that surrounded the school.

"Come outside..." a whisper echoed.

"Huh?" she exclaimed. Still no one was awake but she could hear something.

"Go outside... explore..."

She had been inside for a long time now. She hadn't felt the grass or direct sun for quite some time and now and she was honestly starting to miss it. She thought she could hear some snickering along with it, but dismissed it as some of her overactive imagination.

Slowly, she got up and made her way to the door. When she opened it to look out, she saw no one there and continued her way outside. She went out and saw how empty everything was, yet it was all so full.

The trees covered most of the Earth and the sun shined so brightly. It had been a while since Leila had experienced nature again. Almost years now...

Feeling like a little girl again, she started jogging towards the woods, ready to explore and have fun. She ran full speed into it and began dancing and touching the trees and flowers and exploring her surroundings. This was the first time since she got to the institute that had shown she could be open and free. She basically showed that she could be like the other kids; normal and not so shy.

She was bent down over some mushrooms, examining how they grew along the tree roots when she heard a voice that made her hold her breath and freeze, "Hey Leila."
